Local Baltimore folks - if you live in Canton, Fells, or Harbor east - move your car to higher ground. Flooding expected today. (Along with the tornado watch)

Get up. Do the thing. Stop making excuses for yourself and GET IT DONE this year.
REMINDER: 2020 is going to be the same miserable year as 2019 if you don't pry yourself off of Netflix and make some changes.
This isn't rocket science. It's not new stuff. But it's important to me.
What photographers and curators choose to share and choose to omit can be the difference between amplifying a voice and erasure. Even if it's on a small scale. Because what you do impacts and inspires other people, which impacts us all as a whole.
Just got back from a meeting with a client in which she lamented that the wedding industry is so whitewashed (and I don't mean dresses) and that diversity in photos was important to her so she could feel like her heritage was important too.

I’m loving people tweeting more evidence of interracial marriages throughout history. Keep them coming and thank you to everyone for sharing - especially those sharing family history. It is both touching & greatly appreciated. X
With a bonus round of - that one really good photo of your cat/kid for 400, Alex.
Four entry points into photography careers: 1) wrapping yourself with christmas lights and a timer pics 2) deviantart 3) that one couples shoot you did one time with your friends/ cousin 4) dick pics

Hair is just hair. Clothes are just clothes. This is YOUR damn life, so LIVE IT.
Just imagine your great grandmother saying "shoot, I shouldn't have worn those mutton sleeves. What an idiot I was."
While trends might go out of style for a bit, that's just the short term. And moments matter but they aren't the only thing that matters. The legacy of our style and what we LOVED and LIVED is a source of inspiration and a treasure of history for future generations.
Unpopular opinion: Wedding couples should embrace trends and modern styles. Wear the dress you think looks cool, eat the cake you think tastes great, pose all the heck you want, so long as you're doing it for YOU. 1/2
