An amazing atmosphere at @northernprideuk 🏳️🌈
Loved seeing so many out to show their pride, solidarity and support for our LGBTQ+ community on a day that’s about being unapologetically visible.
In our North East we won’t accept discrimination or hate. We choose love.❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Today I was proud to march with council colleagues at @northernprideuk. The theme for this year's pride is "unapologetically visible" and it was great to march alongside my husband and so many others to show what a welcoming and inclusive city Newcastle is. 🏳️🌈

We’ll be seeking an explanation from Anneliese’s office, as well as reassurances on the Labour leadership’s policy commitments to LGBT+ people – including Trans people – on hate crime, healthcare, conversion therapy, gender recognition reform and more. (2/2)

We’re incredibly disappointed in Anneliese Dodd’s decision to meet with the LGB Alliance, a fringe group which undermines our fight for LGBT+ equality. (1/2)

Fantastic campaign weekend in the North East supporting two of our wonderful LGBT+ candidates, Joe Dancey and @AlanStrickland with @YoungLabNorth 🌹🏳️🌈
Thanks to all who made the trip!

Today marks #TransDayOfRememberance, today we remember and grieve for all the trans people we have lost.
The trans community in the UK deserves the right to live freely and safely, without threat of violence or discrimination, and we will continue to fight every day for that.

Writing for @LeftFootFwd, our co-chairs @Joe_DH and @lilysoaper have called on the government to finally ban conversion therapy ahead of the King's Speech.

Frustratingly, the battle for equality for our community has never been easy or quick, but we have never backed down from this challenge.
Lily Soaper, our Co-Chair & Dylan Naylor, our Trans Officer set out our commitment to this fight below.

🏳️🌈 We were never going to be put off by a bit of rain. In incredible atmosphere at @northernprideuk and a huge turn out as alway. Every year I love marching in celebration and solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community as we proudly shout for the rights and freedom everyone deserves🏳️⚧️

The North East came out with #Pride today. The rain couldn't dampen the sense of joy in coming together to celebrate and march in solidarity with our LGBTQIA+ communities #NorthernPride2023

🏳️🌈 See you there. 12 noon. Tomorrow. Newcastle Civic
I love Pride. It shows the best of the North East and our diversity, but crucially reminds us that too many people that identify as LGBTQ+ suffer hate and discrimination
So let’s march. Let’s make it known how proud we are 🏳️🌈
We'll be at @northernprideuk today! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Join us as we march alongside trade unions, @lgbtcooperators, and our fab @UKLabour North East mayoral candidate @KiMcGuinness 🌹

A massive congratulations to our Patron @BenPBradshaw on the news of his Knighthood this evening.
Sir Ben has been a pioneer for LGBTQ+ rights and is a tireless advocate for Exeter. This recognition is truly well deserved!

This LGBT+ history month we remember the achievements of the LGBT+ community and how far we’ve come in the fight for equality, never forgetting the work we have left to do.
The Labour Party stands with the LGBT+ community today and always.

We hope that both sides in @UKLabour come to the realisation that the Scottish Gender Recognition reform should be implemented in full as we continue to argue and @WelshLabour has also committed to.
