Trabalhador merece respeito, dignidade e direitos!

DeepSeek just published the price of a token, and it should make you angry.
From their own DeepInfer docs: 1 cluster serves 155 trillion tokens a day, at $38 of revenue per GPU-hour, and thats at off-peak prices. Their API is $0.30 per million input tokens and $1.20 per million output at peak.
Yuchen Jin did the math: even if they rented B300s at $7 an hour, thats about 82% gross margin. Other estimates go higher.
So cheap AI is not charity and it is not "dumping". At these prices serving a frontier-class model is a very profitable business, if your inference stack is good enough.
Now remember every time a US lab told you that intelligence is expensive. That $200 a month is a fair price. That limits exist because compute is scarce.
Part of that is true. Part of it is a business model built on you not knowing what a token actually costs.
DeepSeek just showed everyone the numbers and gave away the engine. Every inference company can now compete on price with the same software. Thats how AI gets cheap for everyone.
“A single cluster currently serves 155 trillion tokens/day, generating $38 in revenue per GPU-hour (at off-peak pricing).”
Huge flex from DeepSeek. Not only did they open-source their inference engine, but they also open-sourced their revenue numbers.
They didn't disclose which GPUs they're using here, but DeepInfer supports both NVIDIA Blackwell and Huawei Ascend.
Even assuming they're renting B300s at $7 per GPU-hour, that's ~82% gross margin.

Ben Affleck says AI is simply matrix multiplication, linear algebra and floating point calculations, and however convincingly it sounds like a person, it has nothing to do with thought, humanity or feeling
“Nor do I believe, and I think it’s important to draw the distinction between what AI does, which is simply predict the next token or the next word in a sentence, then add that word on, run it back to the machine, do a lot of computation and pick the next word."
"That is a very different thing than sentience or thought. And I think we need to be really clear about that because it can be convincingly, in an illusory way, sound like thought or like a person."
"But let’s be real clear. This is matrix multiplication. This is linear algebra. These are floating point calculations. It has nothing to do with thought, humanity, or feeling.”

Ben Affleck reveals he writes Python, understands convolutional neural networks, worked extensively with GPUs, and used his celebrity status to get private looks at Google and OpenAI’s video models
“I’ve always been kind of into computers since I was young. Then, when film started to move from analog film to digital, I became more interested in that aspect of it. The visual-effects workflow for many years has included machine learning, so I can write pretty shitty Python scripts and stuff like that.
“With convolutional neural networks, which were the precursors to what the transformer can do, which is much more computation simultaneously, you would do things like look at what’s called a tensor. That’s the numerical translation of a visual image in numbers, like the batch number, the frame number and the red, green and blue values of each pixel in each frame. It’s just that simple. That numeric is called a tensor.
“You’d use a convolutional neural network to identify patterns that reveal what’s called edge detection or feature extraction, which is identifying patterns well enough to know, this is where the window ledge is, so we can more easily take the green-screen image out and replace it with something.
“That was familiar to me early on because, prior to Artists Equity, I had a small visual-effects company. I’ve worked with GPUs a lot too. The visual-effects guys said, ‘Hey, you should see. There are a couple: Google and this other company, OpenAI, are doing really interesting stuff with transformers in video.’
“I’ve learned that I can actually just call up and go, ‘Hey, it’s Ben Affleck. Can I come see what you’re doing?’ Sometimes people say yes, to my astonishment.”

Why is the overall market so fixated on $CRWV's imminent demise?
At the peak of the Dot Com bubble, $CSCO - the largest company in the world, and the $NVDA equivalent of the era - generated about 10% of its revenue from circular deals through vendor-financed startups.
When those startups lost access to capital, $CSCO's revenue growth went from +66% to -30% within a few quarters, and the stock lost 80% of its value. The same story played out across the dot com supply chain, sending the Nasdaq down 80%.
Today, $CRWV alone makes up roughly 8% of
$NVDA GPU sales. Losing that demand is enough to nuke $NVDA's growth story all by itself.
Oh, and $CRWV isn't an isolated example - every major neocloud is hemmoraghing cash and borrowing costs are going UP across the board.
If you lose the neoclouds, you lose the incremental growth driver for marginal data center capacity, and the AI capex trade goes up in smoke.
That's why we're seeing carnage across the entire AI supply chain, from $CAT and $GEV to $MU, $AVGO and more recently $NVDA.
This is what the beginning of the end of a debt-fueled, circular-financed capex bubble looks like.

🦔CoreWeave stock fell about 13% Wednesday after its bonds due in 2032 traded at a record 14.5% yield. CoreWeave sold those bonds in June at 9.625%, so in four months the cost of lending to it without collateral jumped about five points. Venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya posted the yield chart as a warning about a private credit bubble around AI.
My Take
I've been saying that the AI bubble lives in the debt more than the demand, and CoreWeave is an example. It raised more than $35 billion this year, carries about $52 billion in debt and leases, and paid $640 million in net interest last quarter, roughly a quarter of its revenue. The $104 billion backlog sounds great, but a backlog doesn’t cover interest until the data centers get built and the customers pay.
Palihapitiya’s numbers show private lenders charge AI borrowers almost the same spread as everyone else, 6.2 points versus 6.1. I think the bond market just repriced that risk for them. My guess is CoreWeave’s next raise costs more, comes backed by chips, or dilutes shareholders, and Nebius and the other AI cloud companies face the same questions. If you own a private credit fund, find out how much AI and software debt it holds, because those loans don’t get repriced every day the way CoreWeave’s bonds do.
