Watching the Man City saga unfold as someone with absolutely no allegiance to either side…
One of the key pillars of football’s financial rules is supposedly “financial sustainability”.
So how is City’s owner effectively gifting equity to the club considered such a problem, while the Glazers loading Man United with huge debt and interest costs is compliant?
City broke the rules — punish them accordingly. But if debt-loading a club is acceptable while gifting equity isn’t, can we really claim these rules protect financial sustainability?
Perhaps it’s not just the clubs that need scrutiny. Perhaps the rules themselves do.

We need financial rules in the premier league to prevent what Man City did and they deserve to be punished.
However the current rules are anti-competitive and exist only to stop ‘new money’ disrupting the legacy clubs’ stranglehold on success.
We need a fair system.
The Premier League in conjunction with the Red Cartel clubs have created PSR rules to stop every other club in the country being successful for a prolonged period of time.
Manchester City break the rules attempting to stop the dominance of the Red Cartel clubs.
The Red Cartel clubs sue Manchester City for millions and their reputation is tarnished forever.
Victory to the Premier League and the Red Cartel. The PSR rules you have in place to protect you have been successful.
What a joke.
Exclusive: successful legal actions over City case could be worth over £200m to clubs who make claims - only four preserved "right to sue" under Section W
Was initially Arsenal, who are understood to have been followed by Spurs, Man United and Liverpool
City's stance is still that from February 2023, that they insist on their innocence

This is the most stupid thing I've ever seen. What a horrible sport. Its basically "take broke divorced Dad's at their lowest and let them get seriously damaged for money."

Please excuse my total silence on the events in Middlesbrough, but as there are no immigrants involved it is of no interest to me at all.

I strangely find Optimus's death scene from the 1986 comforting right now. He isn't scared. In fact, he's hopeful for the future, even though he won't get to see it. He trusts those around him will continue to work toward a better tomorrow.
