BREAKING: Banner drop on Westminster Bridge ahead of the mass silent vigil taking place in Trafalgar Square today.
The banner says "I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action"
As the genocide escalates in Gaza, and our rights to oppose it are under threat, we must resist.
We know that the police don’t keep communities safe, but whining about redirecting resource for communities that are asking for support to go knock around some Quaker grannies instead is quite something.
The horrific terrorist attack that took place in Manchester yesterday will have caused significant fear and concern in communities across the UK, including here in London.
Yet at a time when we want to be deploying every available officer to ensure the safety of those communities, we are instead having to plan for a gathering of more than 1,000 people in Trafalgar Square on Saturday in support of a terrorist organisation.
By choosing to encourage mass law breaking on this scale, Defend Our Juries are drawing resources away from the communities of London at a time when they are needed most.
We urge them to do the responsible thing and delay or cancel their plans.

🚨One of the two RAF planes targeted by Palestine Action at Brize Norton has tail number ZZ338.
This plane was used to support US airstrikes on Yemen in February 2024, conducted in no small part to shield Israel from the consequences of its genocide in Gaza.

As a longstanding supporter of Palestinian statehood I condemn Palestine Action's sabotage of RAF planes and advise all on the left to do likewise - they are pushing beyond the boundaries of legitimate protest towards actions that potentially threaten our national security. All left organisations and MPs should distance themselves from this bullshit now - at a time when Iran is actively threatening to attack our country, just ask yourself "cui bono"?
They target sites that provide arms for the genocidal Israeli state because the British state refuses to comply with international law. You’re more worked up over protecting a foreign apartheid state than you are British workers 🤡

Leona has been unjustly held on remand for over seven months for taking direct action against the genocide in Gaza.
Now, suspected Prevent Officer Simon Biggs is interfering in her case—denying her canteen food money on false grounds, preventing her from buying food and vitamins needed for her health. She is limiting her ability to call family, friends, and her lawyer. This is all a clear violation of her fundamental rights.
This is yet another example of Prevent’s repression of activists.
