I don't know what happened, but sales of the paperback version of my book spiked to surprising levels over the past few weeks (very high for a book that came out in 2023!) - so that is a lovely pre-holiday gift to me. Thank you mysterious universe and book-buyers!!! #Adrift
I should probably drop a link here to help you also find a copy of this award-winning, genre-blending mystery/suspense/speculative cli-fi novel written by a nerdy climate policy professional: lisabrideau.com/adrift

#BookReview: Adrift by Lisa Brideau “Because although the title meshes smoothly with the storyline, the whole book is, in nearly all ways, anything but adrift. It is controlled, crafted, deliberate—and, to boot, utterly purposeful” @Sourcebooks

11 ships from our flotilla are heading to Gaza now, and content restrictions are keeping the world from knowing. SHARE NOW and let the world know.

To put this in simple terms. For several hours now, Israeli soldiers have been kidnapping civilians from at least 44 countries in international waters.
And most of their governments are silent.

As I watch Israel's illegal abduction of the only humans who have risked their lives to break Israel's unlawful blockade, my thoughts are with the people of Gaza, trapped in Israel's killing fields.
Shame on Western governments first and foremost, and their complicit inaction.
Israel attacks the Global Sumud Flotilla, continues to starve Palestinians in Gaza.
Escalate peaceful disruptive action now.

🚨The brave activists on board the flotilla have asked for all eyes to stay on them tonight as they near the danger zone.

Gaza Sumud Flotilla is less than two days away from reaching Gaza, as officials on the ship stated this morning that it is 399 nautical miles from Gaza.
I'm not on here much (find me on all the other social apps), but wanted everyone to know I've got some in-person events planned for my visit to Halifax/Dartmouth. Come say hi!
So, I sold my first short story. Like, I signed a contract so I think it's real? I'm not sure what to do in this moment so here is a photo of my cat!
Following up this old post with a link to the short story because it is now published and you can read it! Enjoy!

We're in the "Don't Look Up" era.
Climate change is accelerating faster than expected, the science is clear and yet denial is thriving. Worse still, parties like Reform UK spread deliberate misinformation to gain votes.
Sea surface temperatures are 8 standard deviations above normal in the Mediterranean, truly unprecedented levels of anomalous warmth.
