We have excellent nonprofit housing providers in England doing this @Giroscope_Hull @CanopyCan @LATCHLeeds @CCampus87 @GroundworkGM and council schemes like @NUEKent what we need is investment and better powers to allow this to happen more, happen faster and happen everywhere.

Real homes from #emptyhomes @LATCHLeeds are a great example of how we can make better use of wasted empty housing to change lives and futures... 1 million empty homes is too many, bringing them into use makes financial sense, climate sense and common sense @mhclg @mtpennycook

Do you have an image in your head of what housing for homeless people might look like, is what you imaged this? At LATCH we take great pride in the quality of the homes we provide. Proper homes where fresh starts and memories are made. To support - latch.org.uk/donate

Listening with interest to @BBCRadio4 to George Clarke. We agree the Government needs to stop putting profit before people. We need safe and secure social housing. Hoping the report on Grenfell Tower brings healing and better policy on social homes.

In England, we’ve seen no such commitment. That’s why we’re calling on the next Gov to #MakeHistory and end all forms of homelessness. This must include: 🏠 building more social housing 🔨 repurposing empty homes 💰 investing in support services we know end homelessness. 7/8
