70-80% of solar panels installed worldwide since 2006 were made in China. Is China producing too much or are other nations too slow in deployment? See more in my most recent episode airing across Europe and online here:

This is a piece of work I'm very proud of - some may raise brows at the publisher, but the quality speaks for itself and raises the bar of Chinese environmental reporting. Happy to have had the time to deep dive the research on this unlike many news today. Stay tuned.

The #takin prefers to inhabit cold, high-altitude areas above 2,500 meters and migrates vertically with changes in season and temperature.

Watch “Wa/ondering,” a beautiful short film about Miao Yao, a top Chinese trail runner, and her relationship with the sport, by Kyle Obermann (@KyleExplores): irunfar.com/miao-yao-film-20…
What does it take to be one of the fastest women in the world (at running ultra marathons over mountains)? My newest film is a story of one of China's strongest up and coming young runners, Yao Miao. Let me know what you think of her story.

While the world is blowing past 1.5C and will surely go past 2C after that, @MichaelSchuman opines in his second sentence that China's EV subsidies are "designed to promote Chinese industry at the expense of the rest of the world"...

China is undergoing a great experiment — tightly controlled and driven by big data — that it hopes will offer an alternative way of protecting the planet. For all our sakes, let’s hope it works, @KyleExplores writes: thechinaproject.com/2023/10/…

My newest episode about ecological redlines! One of China's least talked about but most important conservation policies.
Beyond nature reserves, national parks, and other protected areas, China has a recent addition to its habitat protection strategy that is less understood and seldom talked about: ecological redlines.
