Another Lotus. This time the 29. Colin Chapman’s first effort at an Indycar. Definitely ahead of its time but they did slightly underestimate the continued development of the Watson. Clark’s 2nd place car
Don’t post here often enough. My latest completion. A really nice kit from Tamiya that now has me headed down the Lotus rabbit hole. More Lotuses…Lotii? 😂 Whatever. To come.

Just finished up this really excellent Meng GT40 in 1/24 scale. A beautiful kit showcasing the joys of modern tooling. I chose the 3rd place finisher from the ‘66 24 hours of Le Mans driven by Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson. I’ve always loved the gold on this car.
Had a pretty cool weekend. Got the chance to see some really remarkable and beautiful old race cars again this year. Wish the Miller meet would come to Indy every year but I’m thankful I got to go the past couple years. Another great event.
What a beauty. The T1G remains one of the prettiest racecars of all time.

As a quick aside, do we need to count how many sponsors, that we are so concerned about keeping/losing, that didn’t return the following year?
And they were IN the Indy500. I’m talking sponsors that were on the sidepods during the race, and then didn’t return the following season. They made the race!
Do we want to make a list? Hell, Huski Chocolate won the #indy500… doesn’t look like they will be back. Bitnile had three cars last year, doesn’t appear they are coming back.
Deloitte, CareKeepers, Sodexo, SmartStop, PeopleReady, BioHaven, Kulr, Hendrickson? Are they coming back?? Unlikely.
You know who is coming back? United Rentals. Who didn’t make the race.
It’s just an excuse.

Finished up this ancient resin Novi from Bill Jorgensen. A Christmas gift for my Dad, who loved the Novis. This was a challenging build but had fun with it. Wire wheels from Fernando Pinto really set it off.
