there's just no way metzen is directly involved with the current in-game wow writing. criticize his old work all you like but he (and blizzard) knew how to deliver on big moments cinematically.

I don't ever complain about the story of WoW (much) but this last patch....
I've gotta say, it's just so bad.
Particularly the insane ignorance from Lor'themar in regards to Lady Liadrin's aid to the Ula'tek situation. Badly written or just a character trope?
Did the writers purposely leave it out and not want to acknowledge it, or does Lor'themar purposely ignore it?
Then his personality does a 180 after the events of the raid unfolds. He was full of hatred towards the Amani before it happened, tagged as an "old man who holds a grudge like a putrid scar that refuses to heal", and cemeted as a stubborn character full of anger and stuck in his ways.
And yet, in a (supposedly) deep state of grief, finds the strength to request a truce-nae, alliance- to the very person he hated and believed was reponsible for his grief for a truce? Then when it was somewhat rebuked with an attitude, he stood firm and continued to try and form an alliance. I'm sorry, but no. You can't force a character who doesn't have that personality down that road.
I'm so disapointed... I have way more thoughts and lots more I picked up on during the questline but I'll leave it here for now.

Probably going to try it, it won't replace retail for me ofc but it's still going to be a chill game to play with the squad between seasons.

Announcing EllesmereUI 12.1 Updates!
The full EUI suite has been upgraded for 12.1 and it comes with major new features. I made a video walking through the most important changes that I'd highly recommend watching.
A quick look at what's new:
- Quickdraw: hold a keybind to open a menu of actions. Point or scroll to choose, release to fire. Arc, Fan, or Grid layouts, including menus inside menus
- Chat: full engine rewrite - more customizable, more stable, plus chat history and short channel names
- Damage Meters: view your own damage breakdown and death recaps during combat in raid and M+
- Raid Frames: Buff + Debuff Managers rebuilt with custom aura filtering - build your own spell lists, assign to any indicator, tune per spec
- Unit Frames: Player Aura Bars - weakaura style aura tracking bars with per-filter glows, borders and sizing
- Buff Reminders: see when you're missing other's raid buffs, see how many players are missing your raid buff, choose what content each reminder shows in, audio cues
