Two exciting days were spent at the #OralGut conference with a lot of insightful presentations and talks about microbiology and immunology. Grateful that I was able to participate and honored to receive an award for the best poster presentation 🤓
Excited (evident from the picture) to present the results from my PhD at @OralGut

Single cells and bacterial #biofilm populations in chronic #wound #infections – New article in APMIS Journal by @MadsLichtenberg, @kirketerp, @Kvichers, Mads Holm Christensen, Blaine Fritz, @tim_jakobsen, @TBjarnsholt-> onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/… @wileymicrobio #Bacteriology

ALT Fig. 1. Progressive zoom‐in on large biofilms of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (A–C; patient 13) and Staphylococcus aureus (D–F; Patient 9) found in tissue from patients with chronic leg wounds. P. aeruginosa and S. aureus were stained by species‐specific PNA‐FISH probes, and images were acquired with a slide scanner (A–B, D–E) or by a confocal laser scanning microscope (C, F).

Tuesday I successfully defended my Ph.D.🥳It was an amazing experience and a day I always will remember. Thanks to all who came and supported and a huge thanks to the assessment committee @tcoenye, @RikkeMeyer5, and @oanaciofu2 and my two mentors @TBjarnsholt and @IsmailGogenur.
Full House at the Maersk Tower for the defence of Lasse Kvich…defending an amazing PhD thesis with the topic: bacterial impact on the tumor microenvironment in colorectal cancer @TBjarnsholt @cssdenmark
📣New study from @BiofilmLab led by @MadsLichtenberg published in @JournalSpectrum, demonstrating implications of the starting number of bacteria🦠in #biofilm models influencing microenvironmental features and susceptibility when treated with #antibiotics💊journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128…

Changing the starting number of bacteria in #biofilm models result in different phenotypic trajectories governed by different #microenvironments. This influences the susceptibility when treating with #antibiotics. Published in @JournalSpectrum @BiofilmLab journals.asm.org/doi/full/10…
📣New paper published in @antibioticsmdpi

Excited to see our new paper out in @CellReports. We show that #biofilm formation in #Pseudomonas is associated with high metabolic rates, which are mainly caused by production of biofilm matrix components. @BiofilmLab @UCPH_health and Niels Bohr Institute cell.com/cell-reports/fullte…

Watch our new video about our new study just published in @ThoraxBMJ Collaboration with @TBjarnsholt @POestrup @KraghBio @FBHertz and more friends :)
Research shows that bacteria aggregate to form biofilms in both acute and chronic lung infections. The researchers say that the discovery is a paradigm shift and provides insight into improving treatment for people with such diseases as cystic fibrosis.

Der florerer meget misinformation om corona, fx. at der skulle være små orme i mundbind.
En lidt anderledes, men sjov, opgave, som vi undersøgte nærmere på Costerton Biofilm Center, KU. Læs med her 👇
Små orme kryber rundt i de mundbind, mange bruger. Sådan lyder påstanden i flere videoer på sociale medier. Men nej. Videoerne viser ikke “levende orme” i mundbind. Det er stofrester siger eksperterne. Følg @TjekDet
