Peace and stability remain the bedrock of unity and sustainable development in our community. Today, alongside Molo Deputy County Commissioner Mr. Wafula Baraza and the Molo Security Committee, local leaders, we held a key stakeholder engagement with communities of Elburgon and Marioshoni. Our collective aim is to address ongoing land disputes and ease tensions between local communities to foster harmony. I strongly urge all residents to remain calm, embrace open dialogue, and prioritize peaceful coexistence as we actively work toward a lasting resolution. #KKSeason3Loading #Molo

At Eldoret State Lounge , His Excellency the President assented to the Value added tax (Amendment) law, Extending 8% VAT rate on petroleum products for further 90 days in response to the continued uncertainties arising from the conflict in the middle east. The bill also introduces changes affecting the construction sector, particularly tiles and ceramics. It shifts the tax measurement for the tiles from kilograms to square metres at the rate of 400 Ksh, while the rate is applicable for ceramics is reduced from 50 ksh to 30 Ksh, easing the cost of construction. The President also assented to the Kenya Revenue Authority (Amendment) bill. #KKSeason3Loading #Molo

Economic challenges require thoughtful policy decisions that strike a balance between revenue mobilisation and the cost of living. Today, in the House, I presented the Committee’s report and moved the Tax Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026, addressing two key proposals: extending temporary tax relief on fuel to cushion Kenyans against rising costs and revising the basis for calculating excise duty on imported ceramic tiles. The proposed extension of the reduced VAT rate acknowledges the pressure that global oil prices and geopolitical tensions can place on Kenyan households and businesses. Meanwhile, the proposed adjustment to the taxation of imported ceramic tiles seeks to move from a weight-based specific duty to an area-based calculation. This shows the need to align tax policy with prevailing economic conditions while ensuring that the taxation framework remains responsive to the needs of households, businesses and the wider economy. #KKSeason3Loading #Molo

The Bill seeks to amend the EADB Act to require the National Assembly to approve all charges and the issuance of public funds from the Consolidated Fund to the EADB. This follows the 2025 High Court ruling in Nusu v. National Assembly and 6 Others, which declared Sections 2(1) and 2(2) of the Act unconstitutional for allowing public funds to be disbursed without adequate parliamentary oversight and accountability. The amendment seeks to enhance transparency, strengthen parliamentary oversight, and ensure accountability in the use of public funds. ~ @KuriaKimaniMP #BungeLiveNA.

Today, I am where I am because a teacher saw my potential, believed in me, and guided me along the way. That is the power of a teacher. To see something in you, believe in you, and help you become the person you are capable of becoming. We celebrate all teachers across Molo and Kenya for their dedication and for never giving up on our children, even when it is not easy. Tunawashukuru, tunawaheshimu, na tunathamini kila mnachofanya. Happy Teachers’ Day. #KKSeason3Loading #Molo

We use KSh 2,600 to print an A4 sheet of paper for a ballot paper? It is incomprehensible. It is a waste of public funds, and there is no excuse for how much we spend on it. The Committee must look into these costs and ensure that elections do not have to be this expensive, especially because we have many other priorities as a country. ~ @KuriaKimaniMP #BungeLiveNA.
How much does it cost to cast a vote in this country? I was trying to do a small analysis of how much it costs for a Kenyan to cast a vote in an election. In 2022, it was approximately KSh 2,600 per vote. How does that compare with the cost of casting a vote in other jurisdictions? For example, if we compare that with South Africa, it costs four times more in Kenya than it does in South Africa. This means that, at the same cost as one vote in Kenya, four votes could be cast in South Africa. ~ @KuriaKimaniMP #BungeLiveNA.

In 2024, His Excellency, Dr. William Samoei Ruto, honoured me with the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) in recognition of my service to our country. Today, holding the medal and certificate made that honour even more special. Deeply grateful for the recognition and humbled by the journey. I will continue serving the great Republic of Kenya. #KKSeason3Loading #Molo
