AI slop your life

I grew up playing sonic the hedgehog, then Nintendo 64 came out and we had Mario Kart and super smash bros. In high school I had halo 3 on Xbox live. Video games have only been getting worse since then
Every EVTOL company that claimed they were building flying cars was lying, including Larry Page's Kitty Hawk that my PhD advisor led. They weren't road-worthy cars. Roadster Rocket is the first
Hey Apple, on the Vision Pro 2 when I'm watching a video, if my eyes are looking just a millimeter from the pause button or skip 10 seconds button, it interacts with the video timeline and moves to that point in time and I lose the time where I was watching. It's super annoying especially for long videos, to try and get back to where you were. Also typing on Vision Pro is impossible, at least implement slide to type. Also make glasses like Meta just released please

Plato’s Atlantis and the Book of Enoch are both about alien hybrids before the great flood:
1) Supernatural beings have children with human women. In Atlantis, Poseidon fathers ten sons with the mortal Cleito. In Enoch, heavenly beings—the Watchers—take human wives and produce children. (Critias 113c–114c; 1 Enoch 6–7)
2) Their offspring possess extraordinary power. Poseidon’s descendants form a royal dynasty ruling a vast empire. The Watchers’ offspring are giants who overwhelm humanity and consume its resources. Plato does not describe the Atlanteans as giants. (Critias 114a–115a; 1 Enoch 7)
3) Exceptional power becomes destructive. Atlantis turns toward greed and unjust domination, attempting to subjugate neighboring peoples. In Enoch, the giants’ violence and the Watchers’ activities fill the earth with bloodshed and corruption. (Critias 121a–b; Timaeus 24e–25b; 1 Enoch 9)
4) Leaders bind themselves through oaths backed by curses. Atlantis’s ten kings swear obedience to Poseidon’s laws, with curses for violations. The Watchers swear a collective oath, invoking curses to bind themselves to their undertaking. The purposes differ: preserving lawful order versus committing a forbidden act. (Critias 119c–120b; 1 Enoch 6:3–6)
5) Metalworking, luxury, and weaponry feature prominently. Atlantis possesses abundant metals, lavish ornamentation, and extensive military equipment. In Enoch, Azazel teaches metalworking, weapons, and ornaments. This is a looser parallel: Enoch condemns their illicit revelation; Plato does not call Atlantean craftsmanship forbidden knowledge. (Critias 114e–116d, 119a–b; 1 Enoch 8)
6) A supreme deity responds through a heavenly assembly or attendants. Zeus recognizes Atlantis’s corruption and gathers the gods to announce punishment. In Enoch, angels report the earth’s suffering, and God directs them to punish the offenders. (Critias 121b–c; 1 Enoch 9–10)
7) A catastrophic flood ends the earlier world. Earthquakes and floods engulf Atlantis. In Enoch, God announces a deluge and provides for Noah’s survival. The Watchers are separately imprisoned, and their offspring condemned to mutual destruction. (Timaeus 25c–d; 1 Enoch 10)
This is awesome, but it's a bit concerning that the "internal frontier model" is far more capable than what is released. I hope it doesn't become the norm that only frontier labs and the government have access to the smartest AI. I can easily seeing it being considered a matter of national security to not release the best models. That might already be happening. When I was doing my PhD all the latest Google AI models were open source, open weights, and could be finetuned.
We’re releasing a broad range of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model.
We’ve been consulting with the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Study, and we have drawn on their advice and public recommendations to inform how we release these results.
