For nearly two years, monk Chinmoy Krishna Das has been behind bars in Bangladesh. He was arrested in 2024 while he was protesting against the atrocities faced by Hindus in Bangladesh. While Chinmoy was in prison, his elderly mother was living through her final days. Her last wish was to see her son. The family requested parole so that Chinmoy could meet his seriously ill mother, but it was not granted in time. She died without seeing her son for the last time. Chinmoy Krishna Das was granted 5 hours of parole to attend her funeral and take part in her last rites. Meanwhile, Jashimuddin Rahmani, the chief of the terrorist organization Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), was released on parole in 2024. Later, he was also released on bail.
