Greetings from El Salvador, where I felt truly welcomed by everyone I met. I visit Member States to hear directly from them, understand their context, and learn how WHO can serve them better. During my visit, I held discussions with Minister of Health Francisco Alabi and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Adriana Mira. We discussed their health priorities and ideas for strengthening the relationship between El Salvador and WHO. The country has made impressive progress in recent years, including in digital health through “DoctorSV”, a flagship initiative bringing telemedicine and other health services closer to the people. At Zacamil Hospital, I enjoyed conversations with young doctors and patients and saw the human touch that can make a big difference, including through “Nacer con Cariño” or “Born with love” an initiative championed by First Lady Gabriela de Bukele to promote respectful childbirth and caring support for mothers and newborns. Truly grateful to everyone that hosted us. ¡Muchas gracias El Salvador! 🇸🇻
