I’m so excited to share the cover of my debut novel, Close Relationships with Strangers. It will be out in the world on June 23, 2026 from Simon & Schuster, but I hope you’ll consider preordering it from your favorite bookstore. Link below ⬇️
My least favorite writing trend I've noticed that comes from AI: super short paragraphs, like 150 words broken up into seven paragraphs. And I'm not talking about people using ChatGPT to generate writing like this, but people who are subjected to it subconsciously replicating it.
Interesting that it’s a big deal to say fuck on SNL but totally fine to call women whores and bitches
Digger and One Night Only are both masterpieces about how under fascism and late stage capitalism all we really want is entertainment, our little treats and (sound of me being dragged away)
Found an unrefrigerated milk-based energy drink at TJ Maxx yesterday. I love what they're doing over there.

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

Nothing like the emotional whiplash of seeing Primetime and then having Spotify confront me with the song “Cleveland!” mere seconds after leaving the theater
Great reporting. My heart goes out to the women who shared their stories and all of the ones who are too afraid to speak out. I hope the internet can become a kinder place someday.
There is a corner of the internet I had never heard of before I started reporting this story.
It’s called the “burnerverse”: a sprawling network of anonymous college-sports accounts that can look, at first glance, like ordinary shitposting.
Then I started looking closer. And what I found was a highly coordinated network of hundreds of anon accounts, dedicated to doxxing girls and ruining their lives.
My investigation for @WIRED — including some of the men allegedly behind some of these accounts — is out now. wired.com/story/burnerverse-…
People say we don't have any culture in Las Vegas but my pilates studio is in between a costume store and a sex club so I'd say we've got it all

If you’re frustrated by paywalls to access basic journalism, I recommend the Pressreader app, which I just found today. You sign in with your library card, or connect to a WiFi hotspot (like a library wifi) and you can read newspapers and magazines free: pressreader.com/catalog
People who have never done "menial work" love to say this kind of thing but I guarantee they wouldn't make it through a single shift
Let's keep this going
All social science Core classes at UChicago will transition to an “analog” approach for the upcoming academic year, restricting in-classroom technology use and banning AI-assisted writing and grading for students and professors.
