🇪🇸🥹 Rodrigo Riquelme opens up to @MarioSuarez4 (YouTube): "There was a point when I stopped enjoying football and wanted to quit. I told my father I was giving up football, and the very next day, Cholo called me up to join the first team for preseason. I had a father-to-son conversation with him. His greatest strength is the level of demand he places on you every single day. His biggest weakness is that he could be a little closer to his players. I was asked to play as a wing-back, and I accepted it. I didn’t care where I played, even if it meant playing as a goalkeeper. I just wanted to help Atlético. Leaving Atlético was 100% my decision. At no point did anyone push me, encourage me, or suggest that I should leave. I wanted to play more, have more consistency in terms of appearances, and feel important. I knew I wasn’t going to get the number of minutes I wanted." [via @mundodeportivo]

🚨🇦🇷🇳🇬 Diego Simeone defends Ademola Lookman in the press conference: "Every player goes through different periods. Nobody maintains the same level all the time. Lookman isn’t at the level he wants or we want, but he works hard every day. He’s a dribbler, and he needs to lose the ball sometimes. Baena, after a difficult season, has confidence and self-belief, and we have to make the most of that."
