It’s not illegal unless there are campaign finance violations involved, like in the case of an ex-Florida lawmaker convicted of paying a man named Alex Rodriguez to be a “ghost candidate” & siphon votes from Democrat Jose Javier Rodriguez, who lost in 2020 by 32 votes
This is election rigging and it is illegal.

Just wanted to remind folks that notes taken by the then-Deputy AG in Dec. 2020 quote Trump as saying "Just say the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me ..." This is a six year old playbook he's now implementing with his lackeys and the media playing right along with it.

The same people that talk about how easy it is to get a government I.D. think it’s too hard for their voters to read a ballot in Alaska.

Republicans might have an argument on this Dan Sullivan thing if they had not done the same thing over and over the past few cycles. And it is the media's responsibility to ensure people know that is the case.

NYT is explicitly attempting to legitimize the Trump admin’s bid to overturn Alaska’s election
Pretty insane story from the NYTimes detailing the lengths Democrats went through to directly recruit literally anyone named Dan Sullivan to run in an attempt to confuse Alaskan voters in the Senate race.

George Orwell worried that a shrinking vocabulary would eventually produce a shrinking range of thought. It is difficult to think a nuanced thought with a blunt language.

I think this is why I eye rolled at the reporting on this. Republicans have literally done something similar in several recent elections.

I support this. 🗳️
BREAKING: House Democrats have preemptively introduced a resolution to stop the federal government from bailing out AI companies in the event of the industry collapsing. The bill says these companies should be subjected to the ordinary bankruptcy process.

The uncomfortable truth is that mass private vehicle ownership is impossible with modern population & urban density There simply isn't room for everyone to store a car at their home address, drive it on a road, and store it at their destination It's not 'wokery' - it's geometry
Uxbridge Road, Hayes. Conclusive proof I hope you would agree. That driving is a much better option than public transport and cycling. Even in the middle of the day....

It's going to happen. They've clearly shown that there is no limit to what they will do. They got off scot-free from January 6. Why would they just accept the results of the elections when they have full power over govt and no restraints?
🚨🚨NEWWWWW --- @FBI agents are privately sharing a grave concern in recent days: that they'll be ordered to seize voting machines or take other legally questionable steps to disrupt the mid-term elections. @KDilanianMSNOW & me ms.now/news/white-house-acti…

Obama tonight on his Cheesecake Factory line: "They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke. The White House even called the Secretary of the Treasury. This is the man who is in charge of the economy. The person who's supposed to be figuring out how to make your life more affordable. The guy who's supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation. And reduce interest rates. They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory."

People love saying that Philadelphia should tax the rich. What rich? The wealth in this region lives in the suburbs. Even if you spent every penny of Brian Roberts' and Allan Domb' money, you wouldn't cover a year of city services.

The lies he's telling grow more outlandish by the day but it's left to local reporters to talk about them because national reporters are so numbed (or disinterested) they don't even bother mentioning them.
President Trump told former New Orleans news anchor @rooprajfox2 during a live interview in Michigan yesterday that everyone in a Louisiana community got $10,000 checks from a neighboring data center. My @WWLTV fact-check finds no such checks exist. wwltv.com/article/news/inves…

Hey Philadelphia, the 2009 financial crisis is calling.
Philadelphia is preparing to become the first city in the nation to offer this mortgage model, with lower interest rates, no private mortgage insurance, and credit scores as low as 620.

Car culture has sterilized our urban landscape. Our street details went from prioritizing people and nature to accommodating the convenience of cars and their inconvenient geometry.
What a melancholy comparison. It’s time, lavishly & liberally, to replant street trees, widen pavements, rip out ugly lights & reclaim streets from their highways officer overlords Dickens Street, Toxteth, 1911 vs 2023 📸 via the great @keithjones84 who is very worth following

the thing abt “men aren’t allowed to cry” is that women aren’t really allowed to either. women get mocked and berated for crying, and their momentary tears are used to justify their exclusion from “serious” workplaces, environments and activities

People who oppose "luxury apartments" eventually need to answer the question "where do well-to-do people who want to live in cities get to live?" Because if you don't let those units get built, then those people will still move to the cities and outbid people who can't compete.
"if we build more eventually we can all live in luxury apartments” is such a funny statement because it’s actually true

They still don't get it. It is not the science and discovery of new drugs that are the road block. Its the 5 years it takes to run clincal trials to prove it works and its safe for humans. It will always take 12 months just to get FDA approval. I know of at least 5 to 10 drugs developed by tech bio companies over the last 5 years that all failed in clinic.
