ALT Atmospheric Burn Table. Atmospheric thrusters enable safe travel closer to planets and other atmospheric conditions. Burning subluminal thrusters meant for the void of space could be disastrous. Burning Sub-light in atmo Consequences (d4) 1. Weather Scarring. Localized burn blots out skies for significant portion of hemisphere for 3d12 days. Storm systems in the area are caustic. 2. Improper Escape Arc. Helm test DR14 or the skip slams into the surface. Similar to major volcanic or meteoric event. 3. Near Ignition. Catastrophic damage within 500 miles of ignition point. Skip and everything within that area suffers 6d10 damage. 4. Atmospheric Ignition. This world burns. 10d10 damage to skip.

ALT Nullmark: Null reclaims... Identity. Who you were no longer matters. There is only who you are. And who you are is malleable. You can change your form into any other humanoid form for d4 hours.

ALT A wedge of once unexplored darkness between the Span’s two brightest arms. Ignored by the Authority due to the lack of stars, it became a point of interest as the Conglomerates grew bolder. Probes revealed that dozens of rogue exoplanets occupied the space, locked in a synchronized orbit around the Span’s core. Initial exploration confirmed that the region’s proximity to the Mist meant many of these planets were in a star-less Goldilocks zone; entirely habitable and hiding in the darkness. Lucien Dilus, owner of the bespoke terraforming megacorp Sylux, saw it as the perfect opportunity to carve out his own empire within the Authority’s borders. Colonization was fast. Most of the planets in the region were perfectly habitable, with thriving ecosystems and even sparse evidence of previous inhabitants. Millions of hopefuls fled the Ring, seeking a promised heaven in the empty space of the Span. 5 years after first settlement, the planets were tomb worlds.

ALT Boarding Harpoon. Kinetic Skip Weapon - Tier 1. 2d10 to target within Medium range. Requires Crew Action to reload on miss. If it deal 11 or more damage, hook embeds itself in target, linking them to you by an industrial chain and inflicting +4 DR on Helm Tests for both of you. Target can't be further than Medium range from you, and takes d6 damage if it attempts to be. You can pull the target one range increment closer to your skip (up to Adjacent) as a Crew Action.

ALT XENOS SAMPLE #060 - Stasis Crypt Discovered when the crew of Blackstar Runner traced a lone energy signal to ruins sculpted from tungsten. The object was the only recoverable piece. Study has failed to illuminate its contents, but the exterior shows signs of complex reality distortion similar to the workings of skip drives. The shell powers itself by feeding on latent cosmic energies: gravity; background radiation; forces of motion from whatever body it is traveling within. Current theory is it isolates the contents utterly from the passage of time and physical forces.
