🏆Congrats to Peter Roesky for being awarded the Marianne Baudler Prize of the GDCh from its President Stefanie Dehnen at the GDCh Conference on Inorganic Chemistry organized by Thomas Fässler and Shigeyoshi Inoue @TU_Muenchen. Roesky received the Prize for his achievements in rare earth elements chemistry, in particular for synthesizing spectacular sandwich compounds and single-molecule magnets. Roesky got his PhD at TUM where he worked with W. A. Herrmann, and he was a postdoc with Tobin Marks @NorthwesternU. Afterwards he habilitated @KITKarlsruhe and became Professor of Inorganic Chemistry @FU_Berlin from where he was lured back to KIT in 2008. Peter Roesky is the son of Herbert Roesky Professor Emeritus @uniGoettingen. @GDCh_aktuell @KITKarlsruhe @DehnenStefanie #rareearth #singlemoleculemagnets #inorganicchemistry #WöhlerTagung

My mom passed a few days ago. There will likely be pieces written about her work, but I wanted to write something that got to the core of who she was. I hope those who knew her see her in it. And those who didn't get a chance to see her. Love to all. eaves.ca/2024/03/10/connie-e…

‘Toxic’, the new @TheENDSReport and @WATERSHED_i documentary, is as alarming as it is important. #PFAS are called ‘forever chemicals’ for a reason and the harm they do can last thousands of years – and we don’t have time to waste. Watch it here: endsreport.com/toxic

#WeRemember: The Executive Board of #FreieUniversitätBerlin commemorates the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of National Socialism: (1/3)
“We at Freie Universität Berlin would like to honor the day of remembrance for the victims of National Socialism by taking time today for quiet contemplation. No words can ever do justice to the suffering and loss experienced by the victims of National Socialism. We must never forget the horrific acts that were committed as a result of antisemitism, racism, and nationalism. #WeRemember – today and every day, in order to ensure that such horrendous crimes never happen again. In light of recent developments that have seen a rise in antisemitic and racist acts, we must come together to take a stand against hatred and animosity. That is why Freie Universität Berlin is taking steps to actively counter any and all forms of antisemitism, racism, and discrimination.”
