I have questions.

I’ve spent a few days thinking about the Tesla Roadster reveal and landed somewhere I haven’t seen much discussion. I’m neither a Tesla fanboy nor a Tesla hater. And I couldn’t care less whether what we saw technically qualifies as a flying car. Three takeaways: (1) The risk of that live demonstration going horribly wrong was real. Almost no CEO would willingly expose their company to that kind of public humiliation for a product with so little financial upside. Elon did. (2) That willingness to attempt the seemingly impossible is what makes Tesla special. It’s also arguably Elon’s greatest contribution to America. He’s helped bring back something we’ve lost. The American spirit of chasing big scary ideas that most people think are impossible. That mindset is spreading across a new generation of founders and its long term impact on America’s future could dwarf anything Tesla ever sells. I think this is deeply underappreciated. (3) Can we just acknowledge how insanely cool that moment was? We’ve reached a strange place culturally where even extraordinary feats of human ingenuity immediately become arguments about why they don’t count. Not everything needs to be a debate. Sometimes we should just be able to stand back together and marvel at what humans are capable of. I’ve been both bullish and critical of Tesla’s ambitions over the years. But watching Elon and his team push the boundaries of what’s possible reminds me why I’m glad we have him. Whether the Roadster ever makes Tesla a dollar or impacts $TSLA stock price is almost beside the point. We need more people willing to risk failure in pursuit of things the rest of us think are impossible. Because when they succeed we all win.

You gotta get specific with these guys because they love slogans. We got more millionaires than any country on Earth and the most billionaires. We just recorded the highest real median household income in history and an official poverty rate of 10.2%, one of the lowest on record. So what exactly is he proposing we change, and what evidence says it produces more millionaires rather than simply fewer billionaires? What policy gets you more millionaires without destroying the conditions that produce both?
I'd rather have an economy that makes 1,000 millionaires than 1 billionaire.

I’ve been a big fan of Microsoft Outlook for years. But finally had to move onto the new version and man; this might be the biggest step backwards disappointment of my life.

One thing I’ve learned is there’s no funnier way to troll Europeans than to point out that 90% of soccer is boring AF. lol. They get SOOOOO mad.

Life Tip: Keep up with new tech as you age. I get it; change is hard. But your 70s & beyond will be much more stressful, difficult, frustrating & confusing than it needs to be if you just hate & ignore everything invented after your 50th birthday.

It’s all theatre
🇪🇺 Europe is sweating through a nasty heatwave this week. The European Commission’s brilliant solution inside its main building in Brussels? Forced shutdown of the air conditioning on floors 1 through 7. Meanwhile floors 8 and above stayed perfectly cool. EU Chief Ursula von der Leyen works on the 13th floor. Rigging the system…
Pete Buttigieg: “We have to deal with a Supreme Court that is now a rogue Supreme Court. It’s time to think big. Nowhere in the constitution does it say there have to be nine justices. We could have 13 seats.”

He’s getting warmer, but still a mile and a half away from the real reasons people voted for Trump. He’ll never really understand it, not because he’s dumb. But because he doesn’t want to.
Bernie Sanders: “You know why Trump has a nucleus of support? People say, I go out and I vote every two years. You tell me to vote every four years. So what? I’m going nowhere. Democracy is not working. You know what I need? I need a strong guy.”

I wonder why more people don’t realize that the more power we give the executive branch, the closer we get to dictatorship, but under the guise of socialism.
What Democrats think fascism means: Republicans What fascism actually means: a far-left, authoritarian ideology focused on creating a highly centralized, dictatorial state that subordinates to the state all aspects of society—economy, culture, media, education, and private life
