#kNOwWasteWednesday Recycle padded all-paper envelopes! The cushioning material was designed to separate from the paper in the same way that paper coatings are removed during the recycling process. Those lined with bubble wrap are NOT accepted in recycling - reuse or trash.

#kNOwWasteWednesday Don't recycle cardboard with the plastic overwrap attached! The recycling facility has to remove the cardboard by hand on the fast-moving sort line, then the wrap goes to landfill. Separate them, recycle the cardboard at home, recycle the wrap at stores.
It’s #kNOwWasteWednesday! If you find yourself grabbing a cup of coffee this fall, it’s good to know that empty paper coffee cups are accepted in recycling! Better yet, bring a reusable cup to the coffeeshop when you can!

Glass bottles and jars are accepted in residential recycling programs – and the color doesn’t matter, they’re all accepted! #kNOwWasteWednesday
It’s #kNOwWasteWednesday! Plastic pet food bags are NOT accepted in recycling. Try reusing as trash bags or upcycling them into something new, like a tote bag! There are mail-in recycling options for specific brands at terracycle.com/en-US/.

If you’ve ever been told that the plastic layer that keeps paper from getting soggy makes it nonrecyclable, forget it! Paper cups and frozen food boxes are accepted in recycling! That plastic layer gets separated during the pulping process at the paper mills! #kNOwWasteWednesday
Just because it's made of plastic doesn't mean it belongs in your recycling cart! LOTS of things are made of plastic these days. Please only recycle empty plastic cups, bottles, tubs, jugs, and other kitchen/bath/laundry containers. Leave lids attached! #kNOwWasteWednesday

The Recycle Right Team found scrap metal in several recycling carts last week–curtain rods, screen windows, plant holders, light fixture! These are not accepted in household recycling! Recycle at a scrap metal facility or at a Pop-Up Drop-Off event! #kNOwWasteWednesday
