The business side of running a membership site is time-consuming. By stopping the revenue, the time I was spending on these businessy things is now available for me to focus on helping contributors and the future of WordPress itself. /3

I closed the business side of Know the Code, meaning the site can no longer accept payments. Why? To focus all of my energies and my whole self on contributing to the WordPress open source project. /2

While I appreciate that you’re frustrated, I wanted to take a moment to let you know: The setup lab is more than just for doing labs. It got your local machine ready for your own projects. It included common tools for WP web development. I hope it helps you.
I’m sorry the free content was not of value to you ☹️ It was my intent to waste your time nor for it to be a teaser. I updated the Go Pro page with FAQ and added a note to the Absolute Beginner page. Thanks for feedback!

Hello Karl, Good question. Opening the Pro content for all would be unfair to active members who paid for a year or lifetime access. Thank you for feedback!

Opening the Pro content is not fair to the members who paid for access (a year or lifetime). I appreciate your request to gain access. However, I’m sorry, new memberships are closed.

No plans to reopen membership enrollment. The business side of the site has been closed. Why? I’m focusing full-time on contributing to the WordPress open source project including helping contributors.
