Johnstown-area native @BoBassett06 takes the first match in a best-of-3 series with Real Woods, 8-4. Bassett dominated the action and is now one win away from making the U.S. Senior World Team.
This looks awesome!

Huge win for Kooper Deputy of @WrestlingRidge, as he techs European champion Huseyn Rzazade of Azerbaijan 12-1 in the U17 Freestyle World Championships. Kooper will face Ukraine’s Volodymyr Boiko later this a.m. with a spot in bronze-medal match on the line.
Kooper Deputy of @WrestlingRidge was a split-second from making it to the semifinals at the world championships in Azerbaijan. Instead, he'll try to come back for a bronze medal tomorrow.

@Pitt_WRES has an unbelievable set up for the future.
We've got a third match at 61 kilograms! Jax Forrest beats Marcus Blaze 6-1 in Match 2, scoring a counter takedown and turn on one Blaze's few offensive attacks of the day. They'll wrestle one more time to determine who gets the spot on the U.S. senior world team.
Marcus Blaze beats Jax Forrest 2-2 in first bout of best-of-3 series at Final X. The Bishop McCort grad will need to win two straight to make the senior national team for a second consecutive year.

This should be huge for the program.
Division II Coker University hires 23-year-old @noah_korenoskii to lead the Cobras wrestling program. What an incredible journey Johnstown has taken to the top of the South Carolina program where he wrestled. (Check comments for more background on that.)

Nothing comes easy for @noah_korenoskii. His HS didn't have wrestling. His district bracket had 3 future D-I guys in it. He went juco & lost his father shortly after joining @Coker_Cobras.
Through it all, he perseveres & hopes to be an FBI agent one day.

Top-five finish in Vegas 👏
Vince placed 5th at 70 kg in the U20 division at the 2026 U.S. Open.
For those wondering, Team A was Rutgers and Team B was Maryland.
Which team had the better season?
Team A: 14-5 wrestling in elite conference and finished in the top 15, but had no AAs and finished outside of top 30 at NCAAs.
Team B: 5-9 in duals, winless in same elite conference, but had an AA and finished higher at NCAAs than Team A.

The decade before @TFlynn134, @TheCliffMoore, and @bigmeech141 arrived at WVU, the average NCAA finish of the program was 46th and they had two All-Americans.
In their eight years, they’ve had 8 All-Americans and three straight top 25 finishes.
Winners!
