#tillsammansmotcancer #cancerfonden

In our new study, we identify novel candidate cancer driver genes in medulloblastoma by using evolutionary constraint. The results imply different molecular pathways in different patient groups opening for specified diagnostics and personalized treatment.

"In humans worldwide, the Zoonomia studies [genomes from 240 placental mammals] demonstrate how explicitly thinking about humans as a mammal among mammals can substantially enrich our understanding of the emergence of evolutionary novelty and human uniqueness."

For a short popular scientific summary about our new canine atopic dermatitis paper, check the press release from Uppsala University: uu.se/en/press/press-release…
nature.com/articles/s42003-0… New! We use Bayesian and selection methods to find genetic risk factors for canine atopic dermatitis in 4 breeds. 15 associated loci, 8 selection regions, many indicating interesting similarities between canine and human AD. #caninehealth #atopicdermatitis
An interesting new study from our colleagues at Broad Institute investigating behavioral and other traits in more than 2000 purebred and mixed-breed dogs.

Earth BioGenome Project #EarthBioGenome @EBPGenome moving from pilot projects to full-scale sequencing of all plants, animals, fungi and other microbial life on Earth. 3 great papers out in PNAS this week with contribution from @scilifelab pnas.org/content/119/4/e2115…
Eric Axelsson and colleagues present WGS data from 8 dog breeds, showing that cavalier King Charles spaniels carry more harmful genetic variants than other breeds in the study and identify candidate risk alleles for the heart disease MMVD.
