After Weapons, I vouched myself to never take Zach Cregger’s films seriously. However, I’ve never expected his iteration of #ResidentEvil to lean heavily on its goofiness tone. Sometimes the comedy elements undercut the horror’s gravity but overall I had a blast with this film.

#Hokum did a complete one-eighty by the end as initially I couldn’t vibe with the tone, particularly Adam Scott’s immoral behavior. The film avoids relying on cheap jump scares and instead sustains just the right levels of unease to make for an uncomfortable watch.

Yes, this is what the movie is all about.
DISCLOSURE DAY begins with us (via a POV shot) being stomped on and ends with a character telling us, ā€œListen.ā€ At its core, Spielberg is using his movie to talk to his audience about the need for and worrying absence of empathy.

This film isn’t your typical revenge story. Aleshea Harris injects inventive stylistic choices to convey a modern narrative amidst all the grief and trauma the two sisters are experiencing. #IsGodIs is an exceptional feat for a director’s directorial debut.

It’s strange watching what has happened to film criticism, but honestly, we allowed it to happen. Studios allowed the fate of movies to be reduced to a Fresh or Rotten score while, at the same time, opening the door for virtually anyone to enter the space without any real standards or requirements. Today, anyone can wake up and decide they want to be a film critic, and I believe that has fundamentally changed the industry. I also strongly believe that while critics can absolutely be fans, they still have a responsibility to be critical, even of filmmakers, actors, and franchises they love. The job is not to blindly support everything from people you admire. It’s to evaluate the work honestly. A good critic should be able to say when something doesn’t work, explain why it doesn’t work, and back up that opinion with thoughtful analysis. If you can’t be honest about a bad film because you like the people involved, then you’re acting more as a fan than a critic.

Steven Spielberg just exposed why theaters feel dead now… and I’m here for it. That shared big-screen magic used to be everything. Movies in theaters were straight FUN back then. Nowadays? High prices, endless streaming, internet spoilers and phones ruining the vibe. What went wrong for real?

The narrative may be stretched with its continuous thin plot, but Inde Navarrette’s terrific performance and Curry Barker’s sharp direction elevate #Obsession to one of the most uncomfortable watches I’ve seen in a while.

I wasn’t fully prepared for the laughter and emotional wallop #TheSheepDetectives made me feel. I shouldn’t be surprised considering the talents involved behind this project, but this definitely exceeded my expectations. A truly special and wonderful experience.

Most of the people who get angry at critics for not liking any big movie these days aren’t even engaging with criticism. They’re upset about Rotten Tomatoes scores and crap like that. This isn’t art for them. It’s sports.

I don’t know if I’m 100% vibing with the tone the movie is striving for, but it’s still intriguing, and having two excellent actors such as Zendaya and Pattison helps a lot.
The wedding of the year. Zendaya and Robert Pattinson star in THE DRAMA, a new film from Kristoffer Borgli. In theaters April 3. Save the date.

Every politician in the world should be forced to watch #TheVoiceofHindRajab. War is a devastating act of cruelty where innocent, helpless people will suffer the most. If politicians can’t make the right decisions in these instances, then they are not fit for purpose to govern.

Does #NouvelleVague make me eager to watch Breathless?! Not necessary, but this is a good hangout film about a bunch of individuals coming together to deliver a motion picture. It has the all attributes of Richard Linklater’s style of sensibilities for an easy, breezy watch.

Jessie Buckley is deservingly getting mentioned for her tour-de-force performance in #Hamnet. She’s a true heartbreaker, but how is Jacobi Jupe not being mentioned more. He’s a real crusher in the film. For such a young performer to deliver such pure emotion is truly remarkable.

The original #Zootopia still works incredibly well with its main resonant themes of believing in yourself and having second chances in life. In addition, having a great voice cast delivering humorous and tender moments makes this animated feature such a delightful experience.

MY AGENDA this awards season is to root and obnoxiously cheer for Train Dreams and Joel Edgerton to get Oscar nominations… LETS MAKE THIS HAPPEN, preferably using this hashtag: #EdgingForEdgerton

I will never doubt Dan Trachtenberg again! I didn't like the #PredatorBadlands trailer, but after watching the movie, I can say this is one of the best blockbusters of the year. This is not just an action, visual spectacle, but there's also an emotional arc which I loved.

I don’t know if I’m into #Resurrection or not, but I can’t deny this film looks visually stunning. For this alone, I think this is worth the price of admission if this ever plays near me.
The official trailer for Bi Gan's stunning RESURRECTION is here! Coming to select theaters on December 12th from @janusfilms #FilmTwitter #FilmTwt

I was very late to #StrangerThings , but once I started the show, I just couldn’t stop watching. Since then, I’ve seen the whole series again which I rarely do for TV shows. Bring on the final season because this looks epic!

I admit, I've only seen a handful of John Candy movies, but his affectionate smile on screen always made me fill so good. John Candy: I Like Me encapsulates everything I thought his real life persona was, and this documentary delivers that heartwarming feeling. A wonderful human!
