Chastity looks different for everyone… 🔐 For my personal Locktober commitment, I am practising abstinence and becoming more intentional about where I direct my attention and desire. No porn. No masturbation. As a married woman, however, that does not mean withholding sexual intimacy from my Husband for 31 days. 1 Corinthians 7:5 speaks about married couples abstaining from intimacy by mutual agreement, for a period of time, before coming together again. For me, chastity should support intimacy within my marriage, not replace it. For someone who is single, this may look different. Many of the men participating in the Locktober Challenge are using a chastity cage as a practical tool to practise abstinence, interrupt impulsive habits and develop greater self-control. The objective isn’t just to remain physically locked for as long as possible. The cage is a tool. The discipline is the point. Whether you’re single, dating or married, chastity is about becoming more intentional with your desires rather than being governed by every impulse. For me, that means honouring the commitments I have within my marriage. For the single men I work with, it can mean developing discipline, practising abstinence and building healthier habits.
