📸 #Throwback to KCL's theological department in the late 1800s, where Celestine Edwards studied.
A Methodist evangelist, journalist, and the first Black magazine editor in Britain, Edwards was a pioneering figure in anti-racism and Christian socialism.

ALT A historical photograph of Celestine Edwards at King's College London highlighted in the red circle. men, primarily dressed in formal academic attire, including gowns and caps, posed in front of a grand stone building with an arched entrance. The setting is at the grounds of King's College London, A number of the men are standing while others are seated on the ground in the foreground. The group seems to be diverse in age, with a few older men in the middle, likely professors or officials, surrounded by younger men who may be students. The overall atmosphere is formal, typical of graduation or academic ceremonies
Did someone say rust?
It’s the start of our Collections Week and we are busy repackaging a recent accession to our college archive. Sadly the papers are covered in rusty paperclips which have damaged the papers (and made a mess!) so we are removing them. #archives

We're celebrating every month by posting a blog all about items from our military collection, chosen by our staff. This month we look at Major-General Alexander's role in Ghana: blogs.kcl.ac.uk/kingscollect…
Alexander acted as Chief of Staff for President Kwame Nkrumah for almost two years, and his papers and memoir sheds great light on the conflicts at that time between old colonial powers and a newly independent nation #history #MilitaryHistory #Ghana
