I’ve been thinking nonstop about this @UNA_Basketball season and all the great accomplishments for this team. ASUN Regular Season Champions. Most wins in DI history. First 24-win season since 2008. First home postseason games. NIT appearance. It was a special season. One that will live on forever. So here’s what I’ll remember most from this journey with Team 7: 1. The people. This team has some special dudes. It was a honor to watch them every night. There are so many great stories from the players on this team. It was a team full of Lion Legends. But it’s not just the players…it’s the coaches. @CoachPujol’s staff is the best I’ve worked with and I’m thankful for each of them. 2. The community. I’ve been at UNA since 2015 and there’s been three moments that give me chills to reflect back on. The first two involve the 2016 softball and football teams. Next on that list is the final 3 games this season in the Bank. Celebrating a regular season championship, 2 ASUN Tournament games with the capacity crowds, and the postgame viewing party of the other semifinal game will be memories that live on forever for me. We’ve worked for over 7 years to see this happen. After the semifinal win, I got so overwhelmed seeing everyone celebrating that I had to step outside of The Bank for about 20 minutes. Before the transition, we used to have meetings where we literally talked about what Flowers Hall would be like when FGCU came to town. Could we put on a Division I caliber game? Well for 2 weeks we were the talk of mid major basketball. Coaches throughout the ASUN told me The Bank was the toughest place to play. One school even reached out to set up meetings to talk about how they can build what we have. The Shoals area got behind this team and we created something special. The community came together because of Team 7 in a way that we haven’t seen in a long time. We needed this and these dudes made it happen. I’m thankful for every member of Team 7. I’m thankful for the journey and the front row seat. It was a special season. Now when do we tip off the 2025-26 season? #RoarLions
