Shaken by the unspeakably awful news from Johannesburg. Another line in the history of fire disasters, which so frequently hit the groups who are already most discriminated against in a society. Building safety must always be for all and is very directly a social justice issue.

I agree Lufti. Fire safety for all! It is not about fancy new technologies, fire safety can also be accomplished with simple ideas around awareness, prevention, and preparedness.

We asked @KindlingSafety to produce fire dynamics simulations to test our hypothesis that the fire began behind doors 5/6. These closely corresponded to our analysis of videos taken that day, reinforcing our determination that the fire started where no welding work was conducted.
