Congrats 👏 to Kentucky breeders PTK, LLC on earning a $3,000 KBIF Breeder Award 💰!
Asset Light went wire-to-wire to break her maiden by 18 1/4 lengths in @TheNYRA's Race 2, going 6 1/2 furlongs on a sloppy main track at 2-1, a winner in her 4th time out.
🐎 A 3yo filly by Into Mischief out of Vaudevillian (Distorted Humor), trained by Chad Brown and ridden by @RSantana_Jr for Klaravich Stables, Inc.
Congratulations to the former PTK horses and their trainers who made this Makeover one to remember!
The Makeover never disappoints, and this year it delivered happy tears, friends old and new, and memories to last a lifetime. We thank everyone behind the @RRP_TBMakeover for putting your heart and soul into this event year after year.
We're thrilled for our four trainers and horses who gave it their all and represented us so well all week. We were a smaller group this year due to a couple horses on the home front requiring close medical management, but everyone came together, conquered challenges, and did us so very proud.
Bella and Autumn worked together as Team Munchie and did an amazing job prepping Mythomania for Show Hunter and Show Jumper, two very large and competitive divisions. The love and hard work they put into Munchie really paid off, because he won something as valuable as any prize: a person to call his own! This is our first direct-from-the-Makeover adoption, and we have Team Munchie to thank. 💚🏠
Amy and Jar danced their way into the Dressage Championship on Saturday and rounded out a field of ten very talented Thoroughbreds. We couldn’t be happier with Jar, who really stepped up to the plate on by far the biggest stage he’s ever seen. They may not have had as much time as they would have liked to prepare, but Jar’s sweet and willing nature and Amy’s guiding hand saw them through, and we think this guy proved he’s a bit of a hidden gem. 💎
Chelsey had her hands full with two Pastured Place horses and one of her own. Good old UBie used the new Graduate division to show what a difference two years can make in Barrel Racing, knocking nearly three seconds off his slowest 2024 run and nearly two off his fastest. Then she and Rustler knocked it out of the park in the Competitive Trail Championship, finishing 5th to improve on their placing in the Preliminary round. This was another milestone as it was our first foray into the Competitive Trail world, and we don’t think it will be our last! For his part, Rusty rose to the occasion and put his most courageous foot forward, making more than one of us shed a tear or two. 🥹
It’s become something of a tradition for us to post a selection of our favorite photos from the week, and as usual we’re focusing on the smiles, game faces, family and friends that got us through and made the 2026 Makeover one we’ll cherish forever. If you’re interested in providing Rustler, Jar, or Unbeknownst to Me with a loving home like Munchie was lucky enough to find, please visit pasturedplace.org/adopt

Of the four former PTK horses competing at the Retired Racehorse Project TB Makeover this week, two qualified for the Championships on Saturday! Big congratulations to Jar & Amy Faison and Rustler & Chelsey O'Brien, who made the cut in Dressage and Competitive Trail. All four horses did us very proud, and we can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store!

From longshot stakes winner to king of the trail, Rusty has never shied away from a challenge in all the years we've known him. Huge congratulations to him and to Chelsey O'Brien on a job well done this year, we've been cheering you on every step of the way!
Happy tears for Chelsey and Rustler after completing their Competitive Trail round! 🥹
A Carle Place Stakes winner with over $235,000 in earnings, Rustler has plenty to be proud of, and so does Chelsey!
Rustler is available for sale as part of our Makeover Marketplace!
Andrea is officially a member of the inaugural Miss Mareworthy Royal Court, finishing 6th out of 13 amazing contestants who qualified for the judging round. We could not be more proud of our girl, and she's pretty proud of herself, too. We just know she's going to ask to wear her sash out in the field. 🎽
We'd like to take a minute to thank Mareworthy for coming up with this incredible idea, seeing it through, and making it fun. They said it best in their post following the close of public voting: "If this... showed us anything, it’s how much people care about the mares they love."
Love your mares. Celebrate them. Cherish them. That's what this was all about. 💜
We can't wait to see how the rest of the Royal Court fills out, so we're staying tuned in and you should, too! If you'd like to support the incredible organization behind Miss Mareworthy, please visit:

The first member of our inaugural Miss Mareworthy Royal Court has been revealed! 👑💜
Congratulations to Andrea’s Pic, who placed sixth overall. At 23 years young, Andrea has spent more than two decades giving her family reasons to love and celebrate her. She won two stakes races at Colonial Downs, raised eight foals, and has been lovingly pensioned since 2021 at her longtime home, Fallbrook Farm.
Her family’s favorite racing memory isn’t one of those stakes wins. It’s a close finish in an allowance race at Laurel Park, where Andrea stretched her nose just far enough to win against a tough field. In her interview, Andrea tells that story in her own voice and shares what it meant to the people who had believed in her since birth. Today, she is their trusted confidante and cherished friend.
Andrea will receive a sixth-place sash, a $20 cash prize, a Mareworthy swag pack, and a bag of treats from Zero Proof Horse Treats. Thank you to her family for sharing a mare they call “the gamest and most generous of horses.” We’re delighted to welcome her to the Royal Court.

Tomorrow at 7 p.m. Eastern, we’ll reveal the next member of the Royal Court in fifth place. ✨

Good old Pluracity. He never looked his age on the track, and that’s still true in retirement 11 years later!
#oncelovedalwaysloved
It’s long past time for another permanent resident feature, and with the Makeover just around the corner, we thought it was high time to highlight our very own war horse, PLURACITY. ✨
This chestnut firecracker was foaled in 2005 and had a racing career that spanned eight years. He made an astounding 101 starts, mostly in the claiming ranks, amassing earnings of $587,230 before his former owners, @KinPTK, purchased him privately in 2015 to give him the retirement he deserved. An opinionated fellow with a penchant for nipping, he’s been our resident rascal since our founding. A late post-retirement gelding didn’t do much to soothe his competitive fire, but this beloved troublemaker has wormed his way into many a heart over the years, and no one gets his quirky charm better than the Six M Farm team. We can’t thank them enough for helping us provide Pluracity with a life filled with patience and understanding. He may not always be willing to show it, but he definitely feels the love. 💚
You can help us provide lifelong sanctuary to horses like Pluracity, support us in getting our young adoptable Thoroughbreds to the Makeover, and everything in between by visiting any of the links below!

Voting for Miss Mareworthy 2026 closed last night, and Andrea finished an amazing 5th of 109 contestants! The results are preliminary, but it’s safe to say she enjoyed running in another race after all this time as much as we enjoyed rooting for her. She wanted to thank all of you personally for cheering her on and floated the idea of celebrating with a mint for each vote, but we convinced her 700+ mints would be a bit much. 🍬
Thank you to every last one of you who voted, whether for Andrea or any of the incredible contestants. The show of support meant more to us than we can say, and we’re sure it meant a lot to @Mareworthy 💚🤍💚
Now, who’s going to break it to Andrea that there’s a judging round? She’s pretty sure she already won! 👑
In her interview response for Miss Mareworthy, Andrea mentioned that she inherited her mother’s looks and smarts. There really could be no truer statement-you’ll have to take our word for it on the smarts, but we can prove the looks!🪞
PTK claimed Timely’s Pic after years of admiring her courage, but promptly retired her when it became clear that she was at the tail end of her racing career. Andrea came along in 2003, Timely's very first foal, and she just went right ahead and hit copy+paste. They were two peas in a pod from the word go, and to add to the mystery of nature, not one of the four other foals Timely gave us came quite as close to resembling her as Andrea did.
Every horse lovers' nightmare occurred early in 2007 when Timely suffered a pasture accident while carrying her fifth and final foal. She essentially shattered her pastern, but she survived an emergency C-section (as did her foal) and the team at New Bolton thought she had a fighting chance, so we chose to repair the injury at the same time. Timely spent nearly a year there under the care of the incomparable Dr. Richardson and his team, which is where this photo of her was taken. Her spirit and intelligence almost saw her through a miraculous recovery, and we hoped to coddle her all the many remaining years of her life. Tragically, laminitis came calling in the fall, and we said goodbye to our courageous Timely in November of 2007. With the help of NBC, we were able to choose a good day, and there is no doubt that Timely knew how loved she was until the very end. 💚
It would be a lie to pretend those events didn’t have something to do with making Andrea a little more precious to us. But she had already done plenty to distinguish herself in her own right. Named for the incredible horsewoman that raised her and praised her as the best of her crop, Andrea went on to accomplish things we could only dream of as breeders at the time. She’s a living link to our earliest days with hard-trying Thoroughbreds on the Maryland circuit, a time we increasingly treasure, and she's every bit her mother’s daughter. But more important than all of that, she has been our most cherished and loving friend for over 20 years. That’s partly because time has allowed her that luxury, but it’s also because she is the most mindful mare around.

Miss Mareworthy 2026 is live with over one hundred contestants, and our very own Andrea’s Pic is one of them! ⭐️
When @Mareworthy announced they were holding a first-of-its-kind online pageant celebrating Thoroughbred mares, we knew we had to submit an entry for Andrea. She is truly the queen of PTK and of our hearts, and it seemed like a great opportunity to honor her and all the joy she has given us over the years. We’d love to see her make the Top 10 and advance to the judging round, but she needs your help to get her there! You can visit mareworthymatch.com/mare/and… to learn more about why Andrea is so special to us and cast a vote for her. Public voting opens today and runs through September 13th. Creating an account is required, and that will enable you to vote for your favorite mare(s) once per day for the duration of the voting period. 🗳️
The competition is stiff and rightfully so-Thoroughbred mares are amazing creatures, and Miss Mareworthy is doing an incredible job at highlighting that. Our favorite part of the pageant so far has been the interview responses, all written from the mares’ individual perspectives. Every single one is worth reading, and you can view them all here: mareworthymatch.com/miss-mar…

Ben is all grown up and doing us very proud! Huge congratulations to his connections and to @luissaezpty on his 4,000th win! 👏🎉
4,000 WINS FOR LUIS SAEZ!
🙌 @luissaezpty reaches the career milestone aboard ROTHSCHILD in Race 2 at Saratoga for trainer @NormCasse.
No Pity had a gorgeous colt by Constitution this year, and she really outdid herself with this one. This handsome boy wanted to help us announce that PTK's website has gotten a much needed makeover just in time for 4th of July, and now he's telling everyone who will listen. 📢
You can do the little guy a solid (and save our sleeves) by giving ptkllc.org a visit. Feel free to let us know what you think!
We were overjoyed to hear of Comin’ Back and Madi Barnett's efforts in the inaugural Thoroughbred Hunter Derby at the beautiful Upperville Colt & Horse Show yesterday. They placed third in a huge class of 57 entries, and did us very proud in the process!
The real goal of any breeder is to raise horses that are a credit to the Thoroughbred, whether on or off the track, and we rank Comin’ Back among our greatest achievements as breeders because he is precisely that. We can’t thank @PasturedPlace, Ali Rawles, Mary Crawford, or Madi enough for believing in him and helping to guide him into the next phase of his life, it’s been an absolute thrill to witness.
Here is Madi and Comin’ Back’s second round which combined with their first round score to secure them a “podium” finish. If you’d like to help show the world what Thoroughbreds are made of, please consider making a contribution to Pastured Place at pasturedplace.org/donate. Founded by the humans behind PTK and our partner in ensuring aftercare is never an afterthought. 💚
Signing off as we can’t wait to show Comin’ Back’s mom what her son has been up to! #MaydellTheGreat

The enthusiasm leading up to and surrounding the TB Hunter Derby at Upperville was wonderful. If there was any doubt about demand for classes like this then yesterday put it to rest. We thank all the amazing people and sponsors who dreamed it into being. 👏
Here's a peek at Pastured Place grad Comin' Back and Madi Barnett's first round where they secured a spot in the top 12, qualifying them for the second round. They ultimately placed third out of a whopping 57 entries, and we are so very proud of them both. It's hard to believe this horse was only adopted in 2023, last racing just three and a half years ago!
It’s safe to say his adoring breeders PTK LLC @KinPTK are equally thrilled, so check out their page later today if you want to see Comin’ Back’s second round!

Our beautiful girl SALTINTHECITY wants to wish you all a very happy Easter weekend! 🐣
Salty has come a long way since she joined our resident herd in 2023 as a victim of neglect. By Salt Lake out of Society's Child, by Affirmed, she was purchased as a two year-old by PTK. They reluctantly parted ways during her racing career, which spanned an incredible six years and 82 starts. After a short stint as a broodmare that produced three foals from 2018 to 2021, she dropped off the radar, cropping up in poor condition two years later.
It took a village of amazing people for her to find her way to us, but thankfully, PTK is always willing to step up when called upon. Lindy and her team at Six M worked some rehab magic and for her part, Salty had a will to live that would not be defeated. She'll be celebrating her 19th birthday on April 10 and is making the most of her new lease on life. While she is only pasture sound, she is happy, fulfilled, and safe, and that's more than enough for us.
We featured her briefly last year, but we thought she deserved the spotlight this weekend. Salty is a true symbol of resilience and strength, characteristic of Thoroughbreds and our favorite of their many incredible qualities. We can think of no horse better suited to remind us all to stop and smell the roses. 🌼🌹🌺

Our third foal of the year is also the first filly, an adorable little lady by Annapolis out of Alluring, the newest addition to our little broodmare band. This precious girl arrived three weeks early, getting off to a bit of a rough start. Thanks to the quick work of the amazing team at Fallbrook Farm and a few days of expert care at @roodandriddle, mom and baby are back home and doing great!
