Nairobi, Kenya: Comrade President representing Mwamko @mwamkoafrika at the Tri-Sectoral convening on reparations and decolonisation. The convening, which ends today, aims to create a transformative cross-sectoral space for activists, artivists and academics from across the globe to collectively interrogate the legacies of colonialism and shared visions and strategies for reparation, decolonisation and social transformation. Comrades, our just and righteous struggle for reparations is at the heart of the struggle for complete decolonisation. You can’t decolonise in part - it must be in total. As outlined in the draft minimum programme of the Kenya Left Alliance, we will engage in a process of decolonisation that seeks to ‘re-africanise the African’ so that our people can not only learn to love themselves again, but also arrive at a better understanding of systems of oppression, elect progressive and ideologically grounded leadership, and collectively uproot various systems of oppression and colonial hangovers. To this end, we will engage in processes of political and popular education. At a broader level, we will decolonize our politics so that it is answerable to the sovereign, progressively work toward placing key sectors of the economy under local and collective stewardship, and center culture as a key aspect of the process of national liberation. #Mwamko #ReparationsNow #MapinduziSasa

On this Mashujaa day, I celebrate our Gen-Z - this generation that birthed a political process that fundamentally changed the Kenyan political landscape in 2024.
