8/10. Nikola Jokić
He averaged 27.7 PPG, 12.9 rebounds, and 10.7 assists last season.
That is the scary part: he won the assist and rebound titles almost casually.
If Jokić ever decides that scoring comes before playmaking, his touch and 56.9% shooting make him a legitimate...
...If Minnesota lets him hunt, he can challenge anyone.
10/10. SGA
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 31.1 PPG on 55.3% shooting and extended his 20-point streak to 140 games.
He is the most consistent scorer alive.
6/10. GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO
Giannis is the only player in NBA history with multiple 30+ PPG seasons on 60%+ shooting.
Injuries limited him to 36 games last year, and his 27.6 PPG was his lowest since 2017-18.
Now he’s healthy and fully unleashed starting a new chapter in Miami
HERE ARE MY 10 PLAYERS BUILT TO EXPLODE IN 2026-27—AND WHY LUKA IS STILL THE SAFEST BET.
1/10. LUKA DONČIĆ:
He won the scoring title at 33.5 PPG. Lakers fans think he repeats.
Everyone else thinks SGA, Ant, or Wemby takes it BUT LUKA....
4/10. JAYSON TATUM
He returned from a torn Achilles in 10 months and still averaged 21.8 PPG in 16 games.
Now Brown is gone.
Tatum has averaged 26+ PPG in five straight healthy seasons, including 30.1 in 2022-23.
A full offseason plus Boston’s scoring vacuum makes him a serious
3/10. JAYLEN BROWN
He posted 28.7 PPG, 21.7 FGA, and 7.5 FTA per game—career highs across the board.
He proved he can carry a No. 1 scoring load.
Now he joins a loaded Philadelphia attack.
If the pecking order tilts toward him, Brown has a real path to 30 PPG.
2/10. TYRESE MAXEY
Tyrese Maxey averaged a career-high 28.3 PPG last season.
With Jaylen Brown, LeBron, and Embiid drawing defensive attention, Maxey’s speed and 220 made threes could get even more dangerous.
THE ISSUE: four established stars means fewer empty possessions.
The Stephen and Bron beef will feed generations
Sometimes I wonder if OG even have haters. Just look at him man. How could you hate that face?
OG Anunoby: "Remember in Game 4 when you took that shot in the end and you missed it?"
Jalen Brunson: "Yeah"
OG: "Remember what happened after?"
Jalen: "Yeah. You tipped it in"
OG: "Oh yeah. That was awesome"
🤣🤣🤣. (h/t @NBA_NewYork)
My 2026-27 NBA preseason ranking starts with the Spurs at No. 1.
Yes, ahead of the defending powers, the established superteams, and every "safe” take on NBA Twitter.
The reason isn't hype.
It's Wembanyama.
5/6. The uncomfortable part:
Boston, Denver, Cleveland, Minnesota, Miami, Philadelphia, and the Lakers all have legitimate cases.
But "legitimate case" is not the same as "best championship bet."
Health, matchup flexibility, secondary creation, and late-game answers decide the postseason-not September optimism.
6/6. The real prediction:
The best regular-season team might not win the 2027 championship.
My preseason champion is the team that can turn every opponent's favorite strategy into a weakness: San Antonio.
Agree? Disagree? Tell me who I ranked too high, then repost this thread before the season proves one of us painfully wrong
