The Kidney Project is built to change what treatment looks like for people living with kidney failure. The implantable bioartificial kidney is designed to give patients greater independence from the demands of conventional kidney replacement therapy. Link in bio to learn more.

In Phase 1, our team proved that both core components of the bioartificial kidney work individually — the filtering membrane and the living-cell bioreactor. We're now in Phase 2: working toward a device with the capacity needed for human clinical trials.

Routine dialysis and immunosuppressant regimens place a heavy burden on patients with kidney failure. The Kidney Project is developing a bioartificial kidney: a device surgically implanted once, that works continuously inside the body.
