Before therapy-speak started to dominate public discourse, we used evocative language like chilled to the marrow, cut to the quick, scarred, haunted, disturbed. Language is now sanitized and mass-marketed, and it’s making us dumber, less able to contextualize human experience.

Macklemore says Ed Sheeran and his team decided to remove him from tour due to his comments in support of Palestine, after Kraft Group rallied stadium owners and gave Ed an ultimatum:
“[Ed] told me that the words ‘Free Palestine’ and the image of the Palestinian flag were hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with. I told him that if those words were more offensive than tens of thousands of Palestinian children being killed by Israel, then there was a fundamental disconnect between where those people stood and where I stood. But he couldn't get past his public facing, ‘I don't take sides.’”

In service of celebrating women visionaries while they are alive… can we give love to Emmylou Harris, a genius who made maybe one of my fav albums ever, who is also so beautiful it hurts my eyes? And still is.

Maricela I.
No necesitamos disculpas, necesitamos soluciones inmediatas.
Vanessa P.

I see so many artists feel like they can finally stop doing the shit they hate after something works once. That unfortunately isn’t the case.
Love the process.
Love the output.
Love the result.
You can’t just love one thing, you’ll get worn down.
No merecen admirar a gente tan mediocre y pusilánime
