I don't normally get personal on here. I like to keep my IRL life separate, but I had a day yesterday that's left me wanting to voice a few things. I'm pretty shaken, so excuse the emotion & direct nature of this. Yesterday was meant to be my son's Christening. Instead, my family & I were involved in a bad car accident that saw my grandmother-in-law hospitalised and could have ended very differently for all of us. It's my second close call this year. During the launch of @DedGorgez I had severe pneumonia, to the point my family genuinely feared I might not recover. I've also lost two people this year who played a huge role in my upbringing & life, one just a month before launch. I'm not sharing any of this for sympathy. I'm sharing it because, after yesterday, I'm frustrated. This year I've found myself genuinely bemused by parts of this space. I've had death threats in my DMs. Been told I'll be hit on sight. Told to give up & leave. Called almost every name you can imagine, and probably a few you can't. We even continue to have a particular founder seemingly determined to tarnish me & our reputation for reasons I still don't understand. I work my arse off for this space. I've put an enormous amount into it financially, emotionally & personally, yet at times it genuinely feels like some people are rooting for us to lose, despite everything we've built, delivered & continued to develop. So let me end with this... I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going to be pushed out of a space I love because I won't bend the knee to the right gatekeepers or kiss the arse of the right people. I'm going to keep working my arse off alongside an incredible team, using the incredible resources we have, to achieve exactly what we set out to achieve. To those reading this who have tried to break me: IF LIFE CAN'T BEAT ME, YOU HAVE NO HOPE. Have a Gorgez day 🙏🏾💀🫶
