My initial thoughts on the @KeychronMK K1 Ultra, feels nice to type on, the banana switches have the right actuation force, and the whole thing sounds nice. The sharp wooden corners are not good, particularly on the left side of the keyboard. If you shift your left hand over to use the left shift key, the outside of your palm drags across the sharp corner. That edge needs to be bevelled or rounded. I'm one of those people who likes Keychron keyboards - I bought the original K2 when it first came out, and this is my 4th different K1 low-profile TKL that I've had over the years across a few iterations. This one feels the most "refined" from a manufacturing perspective, and the amount of "keyboard nerd" stuff that Keychron can fit into this thing for the price point out of the factory is impressive. I like the "idea" of taking apart my keyboards and adding foam, lubing switches, and all that stuff, but I just don't have the patience or the time I'd be willing to spare... plus the cost of that DIY approach for the VERY marginal benefits doesn't make sense to me. So Keychron always hits the right spot for me. I'll see how I go with this K1 Ultra, and if I dig it, I'll probably grab a K3 Ultra to put in my bag for days when I'm in the office or to connect to my iPad Pro if I want to do more work outside.
