This is like Starship for suburban dads
With Hurricane Isaias hitting before tonight's Alabama-Georgia game, Alabama's SubAir system will be tested.
Alabama installed the system beneath its football field as part of a multi-million-dollar renovation project.
Fourteen wireless underground sensors monitor conditions like moisture, temperature, and oxygen.
The system then pulls moisture out through a drainage system when the field gets too wet.
The company that installed the system says it can do an hour's worth of drainage in about three minutes.
The system also has built-in temperature controls with an underground heating system, allowing Alabama to heat up the field when it gets cold.
This is the same system used at Augusta National, and it paid off when Alabama received half an inch of rain before its 2023 home opener.
The SubAir system automatically kicked on, and in just 17 minutes, the moisture level dropped from 25% to 16% — the exact level Alabama likes to play all its football games at.
Pretty cool!
Nick Sanchez was highly underrated
October 6th, 2007: Stanford goes to LA and upsets #1 USC in one of the biggest upsets in CFB history #GoStanford
More than competing direct with Amazon and Google in the present, Apple is building an ecosystem for their new Siri to live and compete with the future state of personal agent assistants (Muse, Grok Bot, Dot, + w/e Google and Amazon release)
As we’ve seen with Muse, native connectivity is a huge value prop for the consumer.
NEW: Apple - in an unusual partnership with LG - is readying a Doorbell, Deadbolt Lock, Thermostat, Indoor Camera, Outdoor Camera, Floodlight Camera and more to rival Amazon and Google as part of its major smart home reboot. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Getting it to live on edge devices will be a huge play for privacy people vs Meta/Muse. Looking forward to seeing how they get the Google models+ harness to live on device without blowing it up

I am surprised that people are surprised this is how I prompt Claude.
Talk to Claude the way you would a coworker. There's no secret to prompting. There's no need to be overly scaffolded or prescriptive for most tasks -- give Claude a goal, and it will figure it out.
Back in the Sonnet 3.5 days, your prompt mattered a lot. Nowadays, it's much more important to communicate to the model:
1. What you want it to do
2. How much effort you want it to spend
3. How it should verify that it did the right thing
I thought that was the worst Stanford football loss that I’ve ever seen and I was right. Crazy since I watched peak USC with Reggie Bush, Lendale, Leinart, etc demolish Stanford. On the flip side, Kevin Schimmelman had the game of life in one of those and kept it from getting out of hand
People don’t remember but this roster was stacked with NFL players. The tight end room alone had Reuland, Fleener, Ertz, and Toilolo. Luck, Decastro, Sherm, 2 or 3 NFL running backs. Football reference has the NFL count wrong
#tbt to 2010 when Stanford debuted black uniforms for the first time ever against Wake Forest.
Stanford annihilated the Demon Deacons 68-24, with Andrew Luck and the offense scoring TDs on their first 8 drives.
LSU obviously had insane top line talent but this is a great illustration of the talent and development of that Stanford team. I had ChatGPT rebuild the rosters since football reference excluded a lot of freshman and redshirts. These weren’t Coach O five stars, (not even Andrew). A huge credit to the program and staff developing players
Dan was a baller at Stanford. Major what if because of the knee injury but contributor regardless. Was a backup on those teams with Hernandez, Childress, Lottich, Robinson, Little. Breakout year as the guy next to Haryasz before the injury. Good to see him back on the Farm. Some of my earliest memories of Stanford basketball
Really cool, big missing piece with MCP’s
One more launch today: the new MCP Events spec is now supported in ChatGPT 🎉
MCP servers can now push real-time updates (messages, comments, status changes, whatever) to ChatGPT, triggering automations for your users 🤯
It’s easy to add to your MCP server, too! Just point Codex at the docs and let it rip:

People are saying it's just a Jev copycat, but don't talk about it can intake images as well. Looking forward to trying this.
