Luxury growing as a sector and the K shaped economy supports this (correct) take
Some people are claiming technology will lead to a post scarcity society. That's the kind of idea that only someone who doesn't understand human nature could ever believe.
Humans are mimetic and status seeking. They will always pursue things that are relatively rare to signal their status to others.
I don't know what those particular things will be in the future. But I know there will always be things that are in very high demand precisely because they are scarce.
Technology might be able to bring us robots and collapse the cost of many consumer products. But it won't change our underlying nature and desires.

I get that it works for new business and I don’t find it embarrassing. I find it boring.
When I moved to Nashville from San Diego this year and saw a doctor I said "I could definitely lose 15 lbs and be in better shape" and he paused, looked at me, and said "ha, you're in the top 1% of health in Tennessee"

Most marketing commentary on here can be grouped into two broad categories: Primary Source People and Secondary Source People. Primary gets bookmarked and studied, whether it’s from brands or agencies.
Secondary gets attention, cus it’s discourse about the topic, and doesn't add depth to the topic itself.
Try not to be a Secondary person or engage with them.
