I’m convinced this next decade is going to transition from “software eating the world” to “ai eating the software”

This is wild. When I was at Google we had a seperate executive wing/building with VERY restricted access. Literally had its own private cafeteria, and the conference rooms we would speak in doubled as safe rooms that we could lock from the inside. Bulletproof glass, the whole works.
We discovered a sophisticated recording device that was hidden inside one of our offices. We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier. We referred the matter to the FBI, and we’re grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing and we will continue to support their work. At this time, we have no indications of this individual inappropriately accessing or exfiltrating model weights, source code, or customer data. The employee was terminated. We take protecting our technology, data, and people seriously, and as a matter of national importance. Our security program is designed to protect against a wide range of threat actors, from insider risks to cybercriminals to nation states, and this case is an example of how AI can help address these sophisticated security threats.

the new @claudeai 'Projects' beta is FANTASTIC, a beautiful orchestration of sub-agents working through problems and handing off tasks, all while keeping the primary chat unblocked. It's unlike anything I've seen from any other harnesses. This is perfect for both coding and personal projects.

I once gave a talk in Qatar, beautiful country and just amazing people, if I didn't have kids, I'd be all about this.
This is ridiculous, it's literally 5x @automattic's first round, just go hang in Qatar for a few years. The internet is the same. Better food and music than most parts of California. I think most startup founders would do better spending a few weeks with Bedouins than with the next YC copycat.

Well said @dhh. I've 'retired' many times... from setting IRQ jumpers, defragging drives, and tuning config.sys for a few more kb of ram. making yesterday's work obsolete is the whole point of building. grateful to have watched it happen.
DHH is probably one of the top software artisans of the past decade. Hearing him speak with this much conviction and transparency about one of the most polarizing topics in software right now, writing code by hand vs. with AI, is something pretty much every software engineer should hear a few times. Especially those still on the wrong side of history.

Kevin Rose just shared his Grok Bot. It takes years of your saved IG video, runs Transcribe 2.0 + Vision on them, and builds a local Karpathy-style markdown wiki you can search and ask.
Built this Grok Bot, fully offline index of all your saved instagram videos via @karpathy-wiki-style .md. Uses @bot, @grok Voice Transcribe 2.0, Grok Vision + more. (X + TikTok coming soon)

Google needs to buy Instinct, they need that product DNA, Notebook isn't going to cut it. Instinct, Muse, Grok Bot, etc., are social ai. I've seen this play out before... I was at Google+ for 3-months running mobile, I tried buy instagram but I was two steps down from Larry, so I didn't have the pull (Kevin had told me Zuck was sniffing around), my SVP said it was 'too expensive.'.. killed me. I bounced to Google Ventures.

Day 4 of using Instinct. This is the best AI assistant I've ever used. Proactively finding very relevant and actionable items for my attention. It lives up the hype. Great job: @noahrshinn + team.

Really enjoyed this one with @philgcarter. We got into Zero's inception story, the twisty road since then, and how we see the future in the GLP-1 era.
In the crowded subscription app economy, building a great product is no longer enough. As AI has made software significantly faster, easier, and cheaper to build, the primary bottleneck has shifted from product development to distribution. As the serial entrepreneur behind multiple breakout Health & Fitness apps like Fitstar and Zero, @mmaser has experienced this challenge firsthand. Over the last 15 years, Mike sold his first startup called FitStar to Fitbit, was diagnosed with stage four cancer, made an incredible recovery that he attributes in part to intermittent fasting, and then teamed up with Kevin Rose to build @zerolongevity, the world’s #1 fasting app that he has since scaled to $5M+ in ARR and over 10 million registered users. Now, he's navigating Zero through its biggest disruption yet - the rise of GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy and the ripple effects they are having on the entire fasting category. Mike breaks down: - Why Zero’s simple one-screen MVP was critical for generating early momentum - How a single tweet from Elon Musk drove $1M in revenue for Zero in 24 hours - Shifting from organic virality to building a sophisticated growth and monetization engine - How Zero adapted its strategy to the GLP-1 era by helping GLP-1 patients track their hydration and manage their protein intake to maintain muscle mass - Zero’s ongoing strategies to reduce subscriber churn and build lifetime subscriber value (0:00) Introduction (2:54) What Zero is and how it created the fasting app category (3:50) Why Mike started building health and fitness apps (10:29) How Mike sold Fitstar while battling stage four cancer (14:57) How intermittent fasting helped Mike beat cancer (18:32) Why Mike took over the Zero app from Kevin Rose (20:53) Why Zero kept its initial app extremely simple (24:53) How Zero's early adopters helped drive initial growth (26:48) How Zero built trust and credibility with early adopters (29:18) How Elon's tweet drove $1M ARR for Zero in one day (32:27) Why GLP-1 medications are reshaping Zero's strategy (36:14) How Zero helps GLP-1 patients protect muscle (42:03) How GLP-1s have expanded Zero's business model (44:41) The loops that will drive Zero's next phase of growth (47:39) Lightning round
