Human error causes ~94% of car crashes. This includes distraction, impairment, speeding, fatigue, and poor decisions. That means: ~40,000+ people die on US roads alone. Over 1.1 million die globally. Millions more are injured or disabled for life. Autonomous vehicles remove the human-error factor entirely. And no company is pushing the frontier harder than Tesla. Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) technology is already delivering over 80% fewer crashes than human drivers in real-world data. Their own projections show that widespread adoption of this level of autonomy could save over 32,000 lives per year in the US alone and prevent nearly 2 million injuries. In the next 15–20 years, as Tesla’s autonomy scales to robotaxis and personal vehicles, we’re looking at hundreds of thousands to millions of lives saved worldwide.
