Ending the day having drinks with some of my favourite people.
Thank you so much to every single person who voted for me, backed me every step of the way, shared a post, sent a message, made a phone call or gave up their time to help this campaign. I couldn’t have done it without you and I will never forget.
When I started this journey years ago all I wanted was to build something the Young Conservatives could be proud of and to finally give us the voice we deserve within the party. Over the last year we’ve worked so hard to get to this point and knowing that so many of you believe in what we are trying to achieve means more to me than I can put into words.
A very special thank you to my campaign manager Joey Gwinn. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to have by my side throughout this. The time, energy and dedication you’ve put into this campaign has been incredible. You’ve been there through the stressful moments, the long days and everything in between and I’ll always be grateful for everything you’ve done.
Now the real work begins. We have a huge opportunity to build something special for the Young Conservatives, and I can’t wait to get started with you all.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. 💙
We did it.
I am honoured to have been elected National Chair of the Young Conservatives by our members.
Thank you to everyone who backed me, campaigned with me and believed in what we’re building.
This is just the beginning. Time to get to work.

The YCs have history, 120 years of it.
In 1954, the Young Conservatives launched a publication, Rightway, a vehicle for expressing the views of responsible right-wing youth to the country.
At Conference this year @KemiBadenoch published The Right Way, a statement of Conservative principles setting out how the Party will govern Britain differently if returned to office.
Later today, we will announce the newly elected Chair of the Young Conservatives. The first for three decades.
The new Chair will continue building the YCs, and help showcase to the country that only the Conservatives are the party for ambitious, hard-working young people who know the right way.
Now is the time to join: membership.conservatives.com…
The final hours are here. ⏳
We’ve come too far to slow down now. Let’s finish what we started.
Keep Kevin. Keep Building. ↗️
Voting closes at midday tomorrow. Every vote counts.
Whatever the result on Monday, I’m so grateful for the kindness, dedication and hard work of all our amazing YCs over the last year.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for supporting me and the organisation!
Was great to speak to @Newsforce @PatSchnecker about the new deal for young people, and the amazing progress we’ve made with Young Conservatives.
The 50% membership growth is down to the hard work of Young Conservatives right across the country over the past year. As Interim Chairman I’ve been proud to help lead that and it’s exactly what I want to keep building on with another year in the role.
@KemiBadenoch appeal to young people has been a huge part of that momentum too. The organised youth wing still gives us a real edge, and there’s a lot more to do.
With your help we can keep building, together. 💙
🇬🇧YOUNG CONSERVATIVES SURGE AS MEMBERSHIP JUMPS 50% AT CPC
How does the Tory youth wing @Young_Tories plan to win over ambitious young voters while facing competition from @reformparty_uk and @RestoreBritain?
NewsForce's @PatSchnecker speaks with Interim National Chair @KevinGhateh about the party's new deal for young people, @KemiBadenoch's TikTok appeal, and why an organized youth wing still gives the Conservatives an edge.
Help us to keep building our movement together. Please make sure you vote for me by midday this Monday.
Proud to have voted for @KevinGhateh in the YC Chair election!
Keep Kevin🙌🔵
Working with you over the past year has been a real pleasure and I knew from day one what an asset you are to the Young Conservatives.
The work you have done in Scotland, your commitment to bringing people together and our shared belief in what the YCs can become have all played a part in the movement we’re building today.
One of the best things about being a Young Conservative is that it brings together people who might otherwise never have met and turns them into friends who support one another long after the politics is over. Our friendship might have started with a little healthy competition but I’m genuinely grateful for where it’s led to.
Thank you for believing in what we’re building and for being such an important part of it. I’m looking forward to working alongside you again as we continue growing the Young Conservatives, making sure every member feels they belong, and give young people the opportunities and confidence to make a real difference.
It means a lot to have you in my corner. 💙
. @KevinGhateh and I first met just over a year ago. We later found ourselves competing to become interim National Chair of the Young Conservatives. He beat me into second place, which wasn’t quite the start to our friendship I’d planned.
But working alongside him as Scottish Chair gave me the chance to get to know him properly. He’s since become a good friend, and someone whose approach to involving and encouraging members I’ve always admired; especially within the devolved nations.
One moment that has stayed with me was his invitation to come down from Scotland for an interview with Mike Freer and a discussion with his YCs. I appreciated his interest in bringing people together, hearing different experiences and giving members something worthwhile to take part in.
Watching his campaign at this year’s conference, I felt proud of the way he conducted himself and the professionalism he brought to it. I also had the opportunity to meet and listen to the other candidates. This is a personal endorsement, informed by those conversations and my own experience of working with Kevin.
I want the YCs to be somewhere young people can find their confidence, take responsibility and learn from one another. A healthier internal culture matters because the experience people have now will shape how they lead in years to come.
Some will aspire to Parliament. Others will make their contribution through business, their profession or their local community. All deserve an organisation that takes their development seriously.
That’s the future I’d like to see, and why Kevin has my support. I’d encourage YC members to vote for him.
Good luck, Kevin. Having been on the receiving end of one of your election victories, I’d quite like to be cheering this time.
