My favorite detail is the patch. We wanted patches to be something unique and collectible for fans joining us on the Worlds journey. This one is inspired by the traditional Korean ํ์ฅ (hanok) pattern, rendered in Gen.G gold. A small piece of home we're taking to worlds.

some clarifications / thoughts on the recent LCK SFR change:
Gen.G doesn't have a vote on the SFR and we don't have a veto. Teams don't formally vote on it. The league consults us, we tell them what we think, and the league makes the call it believes is right for the league.
I'm not going to get into what we specifically said or didn't say in those conversations. But no team including us is going to push for something that works against itself. 10 teams means 10 different opinions, and I don't know what the other 9 told the league, so I can only speak to our view. The league is the only one that hears all 10, and the call is theirs to make.
We chose to be in this league knowing the league sets the rules, and we've supported the idea of the SFR from the start. Spending was getting out of control and something had to be done, and I still believe that. This isn't about whether there should be a system.
I don't think you can look at this one change on its own. There's something about League esports that's fundamentally different from every other sport... if you walk down the street and there are two people playing League of Legends against each other and two people boxing, you're going to watch the two people fighting. This sport needs something other sports don't. It needs people to actually play the game, and that's how almost every fan gets in the door. But the other thing it needs is the same as every sport...what ultimately makes people stay, and what's made this sport grow is the people.
Who they are, what they're putting on the line, why you'd care whether they win. And that part is built by teams, we're the ones who find the players and back them and put them in front of you, which is why how you incentivize teams matters so much.
The system should be pushing teams to sustainably take risks. To go all in on players, to build something people actually want to follow, to have something real at stake every season. That's where attention comes from, and consistent attention and incentives to generate that attention is how you build a sustainable business.
And when I look at how the incentives actually land, I'm not sure they push every team to compete to win and build attention while still running a business that makes sense. I think part of that is just what happens when you're trying to land somewhere ten teams can live with. You end up with a compromise, and a compromise doesn't point anywhere. If one person says the ceiling is 10 feet and another says 20, the answer isn't 15. You've got teams that can spend whatever they want, and teams that are fine breaking even and finishing where they finish, and a smaller group of teams like us in between trying to play this like a game worth winning... and honestly I don't blame the teams that take risk off the table. Right now that's exactly where the incentives point.
We're not backed by a conglomerate. We can't spend without thinking about everything else and honestly that forces us into decisions that are uncomfortable and sometimes wrong and sometimes just bad. We don't have the margin for error that other teams have. What we do have is a bet, that given a fair shot we can win by recruiting talent and building a fanbase and giving people a reason to cheer for this team year after year. We don't see having less capital as an excuse. We see it as the thing we have to overcome by being better. That's our entire business, and I think we've shown we can do it.
And yeah...this change does make things harder for us. I'm not going to pretend it doesn't, but I'm not going to use it as an excuse either. The season's not over yet and the offseason hasn't even begun. The game changed and it didn't change in our favor, so now we go figure out how to win under it.
One of the things I say to our players all the time, and now I have to say it to myself:
Anything worth having is on the other side of hard.

There's something I want to say to all of our fans asking about our homestand...
At this homestand, we're attempting something for the first time. On the road to Worlds, there's one thing we're determined to build: no matter what stage our players stand on, they should be able to look up and find our fans instantly. We don't always have the largest fanbase, especially when we compete internationally. But the depth and resilience of our fans' support? I'd put it against anyone's. We want our players to be able to find you in any crowd, no matter where we play. The lightstick is the answer we arrived at and this homestand is the first step. During the match, every lightstick in the venue will light up as one, synchronized to our cheer songs, and the whole house becomes the Light Zone. When our players see that for the first time, they'll remember that light. From then on, at LoL Park, at playoffs, at Worlds, on any stage, they'll be able to look up and know exactly where our fans are. The goal is that the lightstick isn't just merch. It's a signal that the Gen.G fandom and especially our players can recognize anywhere, even when we are outnumbered.
But good intentions don't mean much without great execution. And to be honest: we got the order wrong. We should have told you this story first and sold tickets second. Instead we started selling before explaining, and we made the lightstick feel like a condition rather than a choice. That's on us, and I'm grateful to the fans who raised their concerns so thoughtfully.
So we're going to change it. Starting this Monday, across both R and S tiers, you'll be able to buy the ticket alone, or the ticket with the lightstick added. Whichever you choose, you're at the same match, part of the same moment. But for fans who want to be the light, that's what the lightstick is for.
If you've already bought a ticket, we'll make sure you get to decide as well. The same goes for anyone who purchases before Monday. We'll share the full details in Monday's official notice.
And what we've prepared around the lightstick wonโt just end at the cheer. We'll be unveiling on-site programs and experiences built around it, one by one. Starting next week, you're going to see a lot more details. The lightstick doesn't end with the homestand either as we want it to become the key that unlocks more experiences at future Gen.G events.
One last thingโฆwe called this event House of Gen.G for a reason: we want you to feel like guests weโre inviting into our home. This event is for the fans whoโve been through every up and down with this team, and we want your experience to be a meaningful one.
How big this light becomes is something we'll decide together. I look forward to meeting every one of you on July 31.
