Great to see this in action as I conclude three days out and about on our services among my normal duties. Thanks to Lead Driver Steve for this pic from Holmfirth this morning, I was glad to see it in action in Barnsley this afternoon. A good 3 days of observation and learning.

Good to welcome @benmiskell, @tomhunt100 and many others for a preview and first ride of the new Electric buses for Sheffield Connect. Starting 8th April, services SC1 & new SC2 will be completely free to use.
No surprise, it's the wrong decision. But the decision is made. What ever is delivered now must not carbon copy Manchester and the Mayor must make partners out of bus operators and not enemies. And there will be turbulence in the interim - a swift steadying of the ship is needed.
You told me that you wanted to see West Yorkshire’s buses brought back under public control.
Well today, I made that decision official – it’s the start of a transport revolution across the region.

Very sad to hear about the passing of Dai Powell. He made an outstanding contribution to the world of Community Transport and was particularly supportive of South Pennine during the latter part of his tenure as CEO at HCT Group. We are forever grateful for his dedication.
We're looking forward to making a big step change of improvement for Sheffield Connect. Great visit to ADL in Scarborough today to see the buses first hand.

Although it has its critics with fair points, I do support open access rail services. Not just about choice but about accessibility. I hope that @Hull_Trains plan for services from Sheffield to London via Woodhouse & Worksop is successful as I hope other routes can open up too.
Take a look at my piece in this week's @CBWtweets magazine about the CPTs launch of a new report on decarbonising rural bus services. Available to purchase online or in WHSmith's.
A smooth ride to zero-emission rural buses?
Kevin Carr reports from the launch of the CPT’s report on achieving zero-emission rural mobility, which was held at Westminster on 28 February.

This evening's rail replacement better than this morning's - on two counts:
1) it's turned up and on time.
2) it's a lovely luxury 16 seat minibus from Wyatts Coaches with a friendly driver.
Alls well that ends well and no more ranting about rail replacement from me. For now.
Great to be in Halifax today to catch up with the Halifax Heritage Tours CIC team and a pleasure to drive no.10, a 1973 Leyland Leopard. Thanks to Chris for allowing me to drive his bus again.
Channel 4 news report from this evening featuring South Pennine & some excellent words from Benjamin Carr who very capably represented us today. Let's hope that all the folk shown on the film on Broadway/Woodland Drive will support our new service 33. All welcome.

A huge moment for Northern Ireland. Another step forward in restoring the functions of the executive. Good news for the people of NI, democracy and maintaining the very important aspects of the Good Friday Agreement.
