Residents of Garvaghy Road in Portadown should not be wrongly identified with or held responsible for potential criminal conduct by dissident republicans opposed to an Orange Order parade along the route, the High Court in Belfast has been told 👇rte.ie/news/2026/1020/159611…

The whole narrative of guns, bombs etc is being exposed as fraudulent. Shame on those that made those accusations. They tried to make a sensitive issue a very dangerous one.
This chart on intelligence is very important in context of today’s court case around Drumcree / Garvaghy Road.
It’s worth noting that my sources say that PSNI intelligence was separate to the intelligence of MI5 who unlike PSNI intel- were on the Garvaghy Road, in person.
That intelligence is unreleased but my source says it significantly differs from that of the PSNI @BelTel

I can now confirm after speaking to officers; that despite a firearms risk assement from the PSNI.
Negotiators who were sent into the crowd and the air support unit were not briefed of any firearms risk.
They are asking me why they weren’t told if one existed. @BelTel
I can confirm, despite the PSNI assessment that dissidents may have had ready access to weapons on Garvaghy road, no surveillance was launched to follow potential weapons.
There was no contact with security services and no counter terrorism specialist firearms teams were put in place at any point.
Serious questions now being asked of the PSNI that if they believed weapons were on the road why they did not follow that belief @BelTel

Police also said it was possible that loyalist paramilitaries who supported the parade would go to Portadown and that public disorder at Drumcree Church was possible @rtenews
PSNI believed it was possible dissident republicans may have used guns and petrol bombs to attack police officers if they attempted to clear protestors blocking Orange Order parade along the Garvaghy Road 👇rte.ie/news/2026/1019/159597…

Utterly despicable desecration of the Ormeau Rd Bookmakers Memorial. This comes five weeks after the last attack, which was in the context of the Orange Order seeking to march along the Garvaghy Rd. (The families have yet to hear from the PSNI regarding that last attack.) This latest attack comes as the Apprentice Boys now seek to walk the Ormeau Rd. Our thoughts are with the distraught families and injured who are left to pick up the pieces of this trauma. In this small beleaguered community of a handful of streets over 73 people have lost their lives to the conflict, the overwhelming majority in sectarian attacks involving state agents and collusion.

Billy McManus, son of Willie McManus who was one of five people murdered in the Sean Graham Bookmakers atrocity, believes the latest attack on the memorial was "orchestrated" to "bring hurt to us all".
Five people were murdered when a UDA gunman burst into the Ormeau Road bookmakers in south Belfast and opened fire on February 5 1992.

A majority in the Assembly last night voted AGAINST Unionist attempts to exclude democratically elected Sinn Féin ministers from office.
They long for a return to the bad old days when Catholics and Nationalists knew their place.
Those days are gone! No going back!

A majority in the Assembly has tonight rejected the attempt by unionists to remove me from office.
I’m proud to have stood with the Garvaghy Road residents.
The people of the Garvaghy Road and nationalists across the North will never be treated as second-class citizens.
There will be no going back. Not now, not ever.

Chris Bryant tells Carla Lockhart he didn't know what the court was going to decide ahead of his decision and he hope she will withdraw the allegation. Says she resorts to extravagant and erring language. CB says everybody needs to uphold the law and he hopes she urges everyone she knows to cooperate with the police. What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
