This was quite different from the time the top fell off a 737 in a routine flight.

Fittingly, I gave them this book from my childhood. For them, it was the first book they read for fun and they can't put it down.

Then it isn't the "worst city." It is the "worst urban design."
Since you made me look, check out how they made the long strip into what is effectively a series of traffic circles. That alone has to take it out of last place.

Looking at MAP scores by grade (first graph), I don't think that is objectively true.
A 75% 1st grader is bested by a 25% 3rd grader.
A 75% 6th grader does as well as a 35% 12 grader.
9-12 is by far the worst. They are forgetting almost as fast as they learn (second graph).

Figure 2 for the University of Missouri, Columbia, is even more dramatic. In 1/5th of the education classes, every student in the class got an "A".

A 75th percentile 8th grader scores better on math tests than a 50th percentile 12th grader.
Over the summer, the median 11th grader forgets about 60% of what they learned in the previous year. The 25th percentile loses 95%.
These stats are similar for other subjects.

Here is an all sky photo in overcast with the sun near the horizon in the west. Straight up looks brighter because of the optics.
Our eyes, cameras, and PV cells are all tuned to the peak wavelengths from the sun.
