I am not a master at online teaching but would like to share a thread of what I'm doing/what students told me they appreciate. I'm doing this in hopes that at least one of these tips helps someone out there and would invite others to share what's working in their class.
When you want to start the year with some #countingcollections but kiddos can’t share, you hit the dollar store hard! Just had a G2 S come by and say she wants to go back to G1 so she can count these!
Now, this is a fruit snack that I could actually embrace! I'm all in. You would even be my kids' new best friend because I might suddenly be convinced that fruit snacks could be eaten at any time, not just for dessert!
Hey @GeneralMills! Can we collaborate on some SHAPES fruit snacks? Perhaps Pattern Block?
My colleagues at @Public_Math and I are ready to brainstorm! Call us maybe? Following in case you wanna DM!
Critical reading as we look ahead to an uncertain fall that will likely challenge us to refine our remote learning practices so that we may better engage all students and keep rich discourse alive and well.
Conversations with students over video have been challenging, but you may have found it wasn't all bad. @TeacherThomp can relate and she shared her reflections in this recent blog, along with examples on how she and her colleagues made the most of it.

This looks like an excellent program via @EarlyMathCA, and it is FREE! Learn from @mathematize4all, @JulieSarama & Doug Clements. #earlymath

Yes, please! I think I’ll be using this with my fifth graders tomorrow. @dhabecker has some good stuff on Geogebra. You should check it out!
I needed a virtual manipulative to show students how to generate equivalent fractions with an area model, so I made this @geogebra app. #eurekamath #iteachmath

Just one of many great FREE templates from @theresawills to elevate student engagement and interaction during remote learning. Also check out her free weekly PD for more great ideas!

As we approach 100,000 #COVID19 deaths in the US, it’s helpful to visualize the magnitude of that number. This post from @lime_link puts population in perspective. lime.link/blog/visualizing-c…

Another great visual from @BerkeleyEverett! This is an especially valuable tool to use during remote learning and a nice tool to share with Ps for meaningful math at home.
Made some quick tens frame playing cards. You can "draw" from the "shuffled decks" on Google Slides. Feel free to make a copy and improve them!

@TracyZager your question about online cards inspired this!

It took me a while to jump in too, but I am so glad that I did! @KellyGartside offers some practical advice on the why and how to get started! She's also launching a great library of images to use for number talks!
Curious about how to get the most out of Twitter or know someone who is leery about jumping in? Ms. Gartside's Math Blog has broken it down into 7 steps. Check it out and retweet! (And check out her math resources too!) msgartsidemath.weebly.com/
So proud of my colleagues who are getting creative to bring rich math remotely while also bringing smiles to their Ss. Lucky enough that @laubscher_luke is also my son's G3 T! We might cave on the pet thing & grow pet celery! #gcdsfaculty

I also wanted in on the @Public_Math math postcard action! I explored angles in our latest #mathwalk design from @FractionTalks and then checked out some spring gardens. #takemathoutside #publicmath
G4 Ss are searching for angles w/ their math postcards from @Public_Math! Thank you @MadGarcia14 for our #padlet digital gallery walk! I am loving chatting remotely w/ Ss about their findings. #MTBoS #iteachmath #elemmathchat #publicmath #gcdsfaculty
