Tonight at 6 - we celebrate the career of @ErinIsfeldCTV as she anchors her final newscast. When you work with someone you really like & respect for 18 yrs...it sucks to see them say good-bye. Selfishly, you just want them to change their mind & stay. BUT...when your FRIEND tells you they're moving on because they have a great opportunity & a chance to spend more time with family. You can't be anything other than happy for them. So...it's that mixture of emotions that i'm feeling today. (Anchoring a 6pm newscast as a parent means lots of missed meals & after-school events with your kids. Nobody should feel sorry for us - it's just a trade-off that comes with the job. But...it IS a trade-off). I've had the pleasure of sharing an anchor desk with a lot of talented people and Erin is right there at the top of that list when it comes to her skills. But, it's work ethic, her dedication to news, her vast bank of knowledge, her work in the community & all the other things that you don't necessarily see at home on your tv screen that i (and the rest of our newsroom) will miss the most. Congratulations on an incredible career Erin! EIA has no idea how lucky they are to have you.
