Happy National Black Cat Day! 🐈‍⬛🩷 Today, let's continue to spread the word: the only bad luck following black cats, or any cat, is harmful superstition. All of us who are lucky enough to know and love a black cat have so many reasons to celebrate today! But to truly protect cats of any coat color, we need to address the greatest threat they face: archaic policies rooted in misinformation that put their lives at risk. Today, we hope you'll join us to Share the Truth about cats and the policies that help, not harm: alleycat.org/ShareTheTruth #NationalBlackCatDay #blackcats

The best way to protect young kittens during #KittenSeason? Leave Them Be! Mother cats provide instinctive care that even the savviest kitten caretaker can't quite match. Well-meaning people may want to scoop up kittens to bring them to animal shelters, but doing so places kittens' lives at high risk. Let mom raise her kittens, whether in her indoor or outdoor home. And when the whole family is ready, spay or neuter all! Learn more at alleycat.org/LeaveThemBe #kittencare #kittenseason #neonatalkittens

It's World Animal Vaccination Day! 💉🐈 Incredible health victories come from a commitment not only to spaying and neutering cats and other animals, but also to regular vaccination! Today, help spread the word about the importance of vaccinating the animals in your care. That includes community cats, who live outdoors! Rabies and FVRCP vaccinations are standard for cats. FVRCP stands for “feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia.” This common vaccine prevents three highly contagious and potentially life-threatening feline viruses! On National Siamese Cat Day, we're seizing the moment to celebrate all colorpoint kitties! We wish all the best for cats like Mona and Chifileit today 💙 You may remember Mona's beautiful face: she was one of the cats our Rapid Response Team rescued from wildfires in Texas. After months of recovery from smoke inhalation, Mona finally found her forever home! And Chifileit, who has FIP, was once so sick she couldn't even stand on her own. After expert treatment provided by our team and veterinary allies, she's back home safe and recovered with her family!
