Check out my latest article for @FlamesNation
Recently, I've seen some NHL analysts talk about how the Flames would be crazy to trade Jacob Markstrom.
So I thought I would dive into the reasons why trading him now is actually the right thing to do.

A chance to show love and support for a man and a family that shared with us - and taught us - so much as they courageously fought ALS.
It’s hard to accept help. My friend Maya convinced me that ppl want to help & I should give them a way to do that. We will be forever grateful for the love & support sent our way, but we are’t surprised by the number of ppl Chris touched. That was his way.gofund.me/182b292c

I feel like goalies have these off years every now and then. I bet we see Markstrom back to being a starting caliber goalie next season.
As for Sutter, I have no idea what’s going to happen there.

Random Flames Goal Of The Day
April 2nd, 2016. Johnny Gaudreau and Joe Colbourne with a nice give and go goal.
This was Calgary's last game at Rexall Place. They ended up beating the Oilers 5-0.

I wish nothing but the best for Brad Treliving moving forward.
You can tell that he is a great person and tremendous leader. He has been a great ambassador for the city of Calgary and the Flames.
It’s going to be fascinating to see who his replacement is going to be.

Our team makes some predictions about this off-season in Calgary and we make some playoff predictions.
(The Treliving predictions were made this weekend prior to today's news)

It will be interesting to see how many Flames play in the World Championships.
I could see quite a few European players representing their countries.
I would also like to see one or two guys who had bad seasons go out to Latvia and try to regain some confidence (25, 10, 91)

Great pic of Dustin Wolf from a surprisingly fun, loose night at the Dome.

Flames made history this year, per @SNstats:
The Flames rank 2nd in the NHL with a +683 shot differential this season. That is the highest in a season by a team to miss the playoffs since the stat was tracked in 1955-56.

The #Flames aren't missing the playoffs because Nick Ritchie was used in the shootout. But it was the last straw in a season full of games where they found ways to lose at key times.

The sheer amount of investment the City (and subsidiaries) are putting into the Stampede Park area is why I strongly doubt the arena (event centre) goes anywhere but there.
Excitement continues to build as we break ground on another project in The Culture + Entertainment District. Say hello to the Stampede Trail Redevelopment project! cedistrict.com/projects/stam… /1
